Diamond Select Toys and IDW to Unleash the Battle Beasts at C2E2!

San Diego, CA (April 13, 2012) - Since 2010, Diamond Select Toys has been searching to find the right partner to introduce their Battle Beasts brand to a broader audience. Now the search is over, and DST and IDW Publishing have teamed up to immortalize a new breed of Beasts! At this year's Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), which runs from April 13-15, the two companies will offer a taste of what's to come: DST will give out an ashcan preview of IDW's upcoming BATTLE BEASTS comic-book mini-series, as well as an exclusive promo Minimate of one of the book's lead characters!

DST on Sale April 11, 2012: Knight Rider License Plate

Knight Rider License Plate

April 2012 - It's Wednesday, which is the day of the week that new Diamond Select Toys products hit comic shops and specialty stores across the U.S., and while only one DST product comes out today, it's a doozy! DST and the DMV don't normally have much in common (no lines, friendly employees, better photography), but DST manufactures almost as many license plates. First it was the Back to the Future "OUTATIME" plate, then it was the Ghostbusters "ECTO-1" plate plate, and now it's the Knight Rider "KNIGHT" plate! (You may think that KITT's license plate read "KITT," but it actually read "KNIGHT," as in "Knight Industries Two Thousand.") This plate is just the thing to make your car look like a high-tech piece of machinery, or at least justify your frequent conversations with it. Pick one up today!

Look for it at your local comic shop, specialty store or your favorite online retailer! You can find your nearest comic shop at comicshoplocator.com!

Amazing Spider-Man Busts and Statues Coming from DST

March 2012 - Diamond Select Toys has been out of the Marvel statue game for a little while, but at one point they were steadily documenting every corner of the Marvel Universe, and one of the crown jewels in the line was their assortment of Spider-Man 3 busts and statues. Since they had so much fun working on the movie version of Ol' Web-Head last time, they decided to get back into the game for the new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man!

Marvel vs. Capcom Minimates Photo Contest Winners Announced

March 2012 - With two full waves of Diamond Select Toys' Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates line out in stores, DST decided to hold a photo contest, to see who could stage the best fight scene. The winner would get a set of Minimates from every line DST made, plus some rare Minimate prizes, and that brought out some talented photographers! After some tough deliberation, DST came up with a winner, plus three runners-up.

The first runner-up was Jason Castick. Jason used a little Photoshop to make it look like Deadpol was braining Dante from Devil May Cry with his own power meter -- an actual in-game move! The action-packed shot easily landed him in the top four.

The second runner-up was Neta-Lee Wolfman, who showed Deadpool standing over a defeated Dormammu, who seems to be sinking into a lava bed... made of popcorn? Great lighting, Neta-Lee, and great use of a delicious snack.

DST's Spock Action Figure to Guest-Star on The Big Bang Theory

Diamond Select Toys Star Trek Retro Cloth action figures

March 2012 - Classic Star Trek fans rejoice! Leonard Nimoy will reprise his role as Mr. Spock on this Thursday's episode of The Big Bang Theory -- but he won't be playing the role by himself. Instead, Nimoy will lend his voice to an 8-inch, cloth costumed Mr. Spock figure from Diamond Select Toys' Star Trek Retro Cloth action figure line! An exact replica of the classic 1970s Mego figure (faithfully executed for Diamond Select by the designers at EMCE Toys), Mr. Spock has a conversation with Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) in a dream, and convinces Sheldon to open up a rare, mint-in-box Teleporter Playset (released in the U.K. by Palitoy in 1975).
