Due to the statistically small, but frighteningly rabid consumer response to the cancellation of Hasbro's Xevoz line of customizable action figures, the company has reported it will release in somewhat smaller numbers "Xevoz ReduX," in 2006. Xevoz ReduX, or XRX for short, will be sold primarily online at Hasbro's retail website, some smaller online retail suppliers and comic book stores.

"Although the Xevoz fan base was small and our original packaging design was terrible and lent nothing to overall sales, we couldn't ignore the startling customer response. Hundreds of customers wrote in saying that they had bought 100+ kits each. One man from Buffalo, NY wrote to say he had purchased 1,617 Xevoz figure kits alone. We never realized the versatility of the line or the devotion of the fans, "said one Hasbro Consumer Relations Director.

XRX will feature many of the of the most popular Xevoz action figure parts reorganized in new colors with new accessories. "With the new Marvel deal in front of us, we really couldn't afford completely new tooling for the Xevoz line. But there will be a few surprises," said another Hasbro rep.

XRX will feature a new species of characters, the Mythix, a series of hybrid creatures that are composites of parts from previous kits. XRX will also make additions to the Sectoid, Neo Sapien and Meta-Beast species. And perhaps in a bid to gain interest from collectors of Hasbro's current and future properties, General Grievous, Cobra Commander (with throne) and Marvel's Mister Sinister were also added to the mix. XRX Wave "Alpha" will begin hitting stores shortly following the convention and will include Brain Hunter, Infra Red Ray, Noxious Naga and Ying Yang. Subsequent waves with be released throughout the year. Expect to see Grievous, Cobra Commander and Mr. Sinister closer to Christmas.
