Loose Flynn Carded Flynn
  • Tomy released Flynn in 1981 as part of the Tron series
  • Flynn was re-released by NECA in 2002 on both vintage (shown below) and modern-style cards.
  • The black-plastic version of Flynn above was available only with the NECA blue Light Cycle.
  • Solid construction (no rubber band)
  • 5 points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips
  • The Tomy figures read "Tomy Japan" on the right leg and "(c) 1981 Walt Disney Prod." on the left; The NECA figures read "NECA China" on the right leg and "(c) Disney" on the left
  • The NECA figures are slightly shorter than the Tomy
  • Glow-in-the-dark disc with a peg handle on one side which fits in a hole in the figure's back - also included with Tron and Sark
  • The Tomy version of the disc has "Japan" stamped on the back, and a thicker stud - the Tomy discs do not fit in the holes in the NECA figures' backs (and vice versa)
  • The picture to the left below is an early prototype version of the Tomy figure
