The Marvel Universe continues to blow me away with newer offerings. So much so, that I actually prefer the MU sculpt over the ML sculpt in some instances.
For example, Commander Steve Rogers and Bucky Cap. While I love both ML versions, they don't seem to have the proper proportions as the head look to be too big for the bodies. Yet, the MU versions seem to be more accurate but have the softer quality plastic issues with some figures. Drax is another one that looks better as an MU than a ML.
MU Thanos, Apocalypse and Sinister are amazing IMHO. A friend scored me a Kraven and I am blown away by the detail in this figure.
I love the 3 3/4" scale because it presents the opportunity to do so much more between dios, vehicles and playsets but wish the quality was consistent. if MU was built like GI Joe, I'd be done with ML.
I still cannot believe I own a comic version 3 3/4" Maverick! I thought I was only one of maybe ten Mav fans in the world and yet we got a figure of him.
While Hasbro is doing a better job with proportions than TB was IMHO, they still need to work on making them a bit better.
Maybe?
Was just in Walmart and saw the new planogram and it listed "Spider Studio Ser". The Avengers Movie Series is on it as "Avengers 6 Studio Series" or something very similar to that.
So did Hasbro announce this and I missed it, or have we not heard of these before? I hope these are great! I'd love a non-badly painted, well-articulated movie Spider-Man, Lizard, Peter Parker and Mary Jane. I know the last one is never going to happen, but wouldn't it be nice?
Also, has Hasbro made any noise about completing the Avengers Movie Series with Black Widow anytime soon? Maybe a Wave Two with her, an un-sunglassed Hawkeye, unmasked Cap, Chitauri even?
You'd think Matty could send a more descriptive email than "as requested, we cancelled order (bleep)xx" sending me scrambling to see what was cancelled (since there's a lot of stuff being released soon). But I guess they didn't make their limit.
Did they ever say whether the main DC sub actually made it or not? I remember it wasn't looking good...
YESSSSS!!!!

this could be better than close-but-not-quite accurate highly detailed action figures!
I'm actually not affiliated with this show but I wanted to spread the word about Burlington ToyCon this Sunday September 9th.

Thanks for reading.
Having turned 40 in January, my wife "approved" of my commissioning a piece of art for my library at home.
I hired a designer to populate a bookshelf landscape with heroes from
various sci-fi/fantasy/adventures. I’m quite proud of it and
would love to share with the rest of the RTM community.
Enjoy!

Marvel Universe in my area just isn't happening... too many of the local stores have either dropped it (Walmart) or don't restock (Target-- I'm pretty sure that the white Iron Fists aren't going to restock themselves!) and our TRU is drowning in previous waves.
Apparently I missed out on the 2012 wave 2 the other day at Walmart, finding a lone Future Foundation Spidey remaining.
So, what are some good online sources for these guys?
I've signed up for Impulse Creations notification system but it never seems to work. The best price on the new sets that's I've seen seems to be SmallJoes.com right now but was curious who else folks are using for their MU figs.
Thanks!

Lex Luthor in his power armor is one of my favorite concepts in all of nerdom for reasons with which I will not bore you. I love the DCSH armored Luthor overall, but I've never been in love with the head sculpt, or the fact that it differs from the supervillain/Superfriends DCUC Luthor head.
Fixed that today.
Bought two DCUC Orange Lantern Luthors. One is still MOC, waiting to become a business suit Lex Luthor once Black Mask arrives. I put the head from the other on the DCSH armored Lex and it makes a huge difference. Not only does it unify my Luthors; they're both definitely the same guy in different costumes now, the new wider, slightly bigger, head on the armored Lex makes the overall proportions of the figure a lot better. Between the head sculpt's expression and the better proportions, the armored Lex is a much more imposing, cooler figure now.
I hoped I would like the results of the head switch, but I didn't think it would boost my appreciation for a figure I already love as much as it did.
Very cool.
