What I didn't like about Toyfair, New Toys so far in 2013

I know a lot of people are jazzed about Toyfair 2013, but there were a lot of issues I thought with Hasbro.

My biggest complaint is with the Star Wars figures. Most star wars collectors who started back in 1995 may have close to 400 figures in their collection. In this economy and with the rising costs including action figures.... $20 for one star wars figure is acceptable? Even if these figures are fantastic, where do you find space in your collection for these larger versions of figures you already have? If you have Mini Busts, Statues, or 12" figures, do you really need these in your collection? I think Star Wars missed the boat years ago where executing this line would have been better received, but now... I'm not sure.

Every other toy pictured for star wars is crap. The figure selection has no new figures, there are figures that look like they are rejects from years ago, taking the line in the absolute backwards direction in terms of quality and articulation and selection. Has anyone seen these new vehicles or 12 inch figures yet for 2013... They are abysmal. If I had to grade the star wars team overall for 2013... it would be an F... well deserved.

Question about Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII

Does the chest light up on this, like some of the previous ones?

While I still have a huge pile of loot to open, I've got some great items coming, some of which are what I consider "Bucket List" toy items:

-Masterpiece Soundwave has arrived....I have looked at him but not yet bothered to actually fidget with him. He's absolutely beautiful.

-Quake Wave "Not Shockwave" 3rd Party version arrives this weekend. Again, another bucket list item. he too, looks amazing.

-6" Iron Patriot. Finally! This should have an Osborne head as well, but he is still awesome.

-GI Joe Retaliation 3pk with Ultimate Firefly: Finally, an ULTIMATE version of a fav character. Again, a bucket list item.

-Masterpiece Ravage and Rumble: YES! To accompany big daddy Soundwave in style.

A pile of awesome WWE Mattel figures currently await their freedom for review from their plastic cells such as Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan and more.

Anyone else?

Toy Fare: What really stood out for you?

My toy tastes have changed this past year and I think I've become numb and somewhat bored with the same ideas and formulas being rehashed. This is probably why I have been more focused on Transformers and 3rd Party versions of those classic characters.

That said...

1. Star Wars: The 6" line and "Black" 3.75 line look like all that will be left for our Collector demographic, as the line goes the way of Iron Man, Spider Man and Batman, marketing a less articulated, lower price point product for the kids. I understand this, but it's still a bitter pill to swallow. The 6" Darth Maul has promise, but I still the head sculpt on certain 3.75 figures are better

2. Transformers: Metroplex! he looks amazing and I hope he sells so that we see Trypticon, Sky Lynx and other similar sized bots. Seeing larger, classic character versions like Springer is a huge win as well.

3. GI Joe offered a few "Ultimate" version of Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes to add to the current Firefly in the Retal 3 packs. A lot of the new figures look great but I am concerned over the expousre they will receive.

dc imaginext figures

i've been picking up a ton of imaginext stuff for my nephews and while hunting on ebay, saw that there are wonder woman and harley quinn figures out. has anyone seen these at retail?

and was there any new imaginext stuff shown at toyfair?

Found New Iron Man 3 Micro Muggs at Target..be warned though...

the micro mugg is fixed onto the base. I had not read anyone finding these, so I was now sure if the base was attached or not and now I know... There is also no articulation at all. Kind of a shame because they are pretty cool, just don't collect pvc type figures. Price is $2.99.

Has anyone found G.I. Je Retaliation Joe Colton or Flint at retail?

The only thing I've seen so far is wave one. Any help is appreciated!

Are there seriously no other characters in Hasbro's Iron Man 3 line other than Iron Man?

All it looks like is that the entire line is made up of different kinds of armor. I didn't plan on buying any of these, but still, that's lame. Where's the Mandarin?! Even the Marvel Legends Iron Man figures kind of lamed out. Five different suits of armor and only two villains counting the Iron Monger BAF, which does look cool, but they could have given us a new comic book Mandarin, Whiplash, or even the freaking Spymaster instead of more armor variants.

That's gonna be 1 expensive ML Puck

Don't think I ever before wanted the BAF and not even 1 of the figures in the set before until now. Couldn't they have given us 1 or 2 Alpha Flight member. Guardian, Aurora and Northstar would be so cheap. Just a new head on a generic buck.
