------ Welcome to RTMemo ------

Welcome to another Monday and to another issue of RTMemo! If you missed last week, you missed a lot, and it can be summed up like this: the Cave Troll and DC Comics Pocket Super Heroes.

------ Featured This Issue ------

Spotlight: Victoria Silvstedt Doll
Victoria Silvstedt is the first Playmate to be transformed into 16-inch doll format in the Playboy series of collectible dolls. We've got pictures, and yes, they are "safe for work."

A Playmate of Your Own
Playboy and the Stronghold Group bared all to RTM about the collectible series of Playboy Playmates dolls.

Spotlight: Fritz
Fritz was Dr. Frankenstein's assistant in the 1931 Frankenstein film. He is also a 12-inch action figure from Sideshow Toy.

3-3/4 Archives
"We're getting the band back together!" Err... we mean: Kevin Lentz's 3-3/4 Action Figure Archives have returned to RTM.

Speed Lines: Gundam FIX, Cyborg 009, FFX, much more
Ray H's Speed Lines column brings you the latest news about toys from Japan. In this latest installment, he covers Final Fantasy Ten, Gundam FIX, Cyborg 009, Solar Squadron, and more.

------ News Highlights ------

Electronic Cave Troll
Pictures of the electronic Cave Troll figure from the Lord of the Rings line by Toy Biz.

Art Asylum to Make Star Trek Figures
Art Asylum will be making Trek figures in the 7-inch scale. They'll start with figures based on Enterprise and the upcoming movie.

DC Comics Pocket Super Heroes
DC Direct will be making tiny action figures of DC heroes. These aren't block figures, but more like Playmobil figures.

F.D.N.Y. Fire Fighter Action Figure
A team of toy industry insiders is selling an 8-inch fire fighter action figure to raise money for the F.D.N.Y. Fire Safety Education Fund.

------ From the Buzz ------

Wow, the Buzz is filled with lots of talk about the DC Comics Pocket Superheroes! Let's see what else got people typing into the little box...

Jevian has a few thoughts about Art Asylum making Star Trek action figures:

So does Ranger One:

Dare bought a 9-inch Hermione from the Harry Potter series, and discovered that she's very articulated:

The Doc wonders if FantAsia is a good store to order from:

(The posts on the Buzz last only a few days, so if you are reading this more than two or three days after this issue of RTMemo was sent out, the posts will likely be gone.)

------ From the MarketBuzz ------

Mr. Plow would like to find a carded Space Ghost figure:

Tony has Dave Dorman Star Wars prints for sale:

------ From Amazon.com ------

The Official Price Guide to Action Figures (2nd Ed)
The title says this book is a price guide, but it is actually entertainment for action figure collectors. The prices/values are handy to have, but the true value of this book comes in the commentary on each action figure product line listed: the comments are always witty and often dripping with sarcasm.

------ From the Old Days ------

Obsession: Confessions of a Collector
From back in the day... Jeff Cope takes a look at what it is that makes collectors do what they do.

------ Toy Link of the Week ------

Mask of Destiny
A site devoted to BIONICLE, run on the same format as RebelScum.com. In addition to covering the toys, Mask of Destiny also has news and information about the BIONICLE video games and collectible card game.

------ Non-Toy Link of the Week ------

Mr. Cranky
Do you like to hear or read movie reviews before you plunk down eight bucks to see a movie in the theater? Are you tired of movie reviews that you can only understand if you've gone to film school? Then Mr. Cranky is the movie reviewer for you... he rates movies using bombs rather than stars and can always be counted on to point out the most annoying thing about a film.

------ Coming Soon ------

We've discovered an "RTMemo curse"... if we list what is "coming soon," we tend to not actually get it finished and uploaded! As an experiment this week, we're not going to say what we have planned for the week, to see if we can catch up with what we thought we would do over the past two weeks.

------ In Closing ------
