The League of Marvels

The League of Marvels
A Custom Action Figure Project
By Bruce Ross and Joshua Izzo

Recipes

Spider-Man Recipe:

This design was co-developed by Joshua and I. I had a basic design, and Mr. Izzo suggested some modifications that (in my opinion) improved the look of the final design considerably. The base figure is Marvel Legends Gambit, and the head is a heavily reworked Marvel Legends Angel noggin. The jacket/vest, straps, and boot wraps are leather. The pneumatic "webbing" device is just some tube that has been glued to the wrists with bendy wire glued to the inside edge. The hooks are stripped garbage twist ties. The goggles are leather with vinyl lenses.

Cyclops Recipe:
Head: Diamond Select Wesley
Body: Funrise Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Willy Wonka

Daredevil Recipe:
Head: Diamond Select Wesley
Torso: Toy Biz X-Men 2 Movie Magneto
Legs: Neca Crazy 88

Nicholas Fury Recipe:
The base body is the X2 Magneto. The hair was re-sculpted with epoxy putty, as was the eye patch and beard. I slimmed the shape of the nose and filled in the cheeks a bit to make him look *slightly* younger (I still wanted him to look older and grizzled). The hands are from the McFarlane Toys Morpheus figure. The boots are a composite of a miscellaneous figure's shins and Marvel Legends 6 Wolverine feet. The flintlock pistol (much too early of a design for the intended period, but I figured maybe Nick liked to have a relic for symbolic effect) is from the Sleepy Hollow Ichabod Crane figure. The coat and straps are made of leather, and the belt pouches are trimmed from a Marvel Legends 4 Punisher figure. The boot knife is an accessory from the super-poseable Boromir figure. The jet pack is a retro space ship keychain, repainted and stripped of a few details.

Arnim Zola Recipe:
The base body is the movie Doc Ock. The arms are from Marvel Legends Namor, and the hands/gauntlets are from the Marvel Legends 1 Iron Man. The electronic brain box thingy (where the head should be) is a wrist blaster from Marvel Legends War Machine. The ornate decoration above the face and below the belt are from the McFarlane Toys "Skullsplitter" figure (Viking Spawn Series). The canister on the right side of the face is from a Final Fantasy Aki Ross figure, and the small knob to the left of the face is sliced from a Cerebro accessory. The belt is from a Dragon Models military figure, and the small rectangular shape below the belt and to the right is a Star Wars accessory. The face is Marvel Legends Sabretooth, and the feet are from a Snapshot Spider-Man figure. The backpack, designed with an old industrial theme in mind, is made form various odds and ends.

Captain America Recipe:
Head: Diamond Select Wesley
Torso: Diamond Select Spike
Gloves: Mattel Batman
Legs: Toy Biz X-Men Movie 02 Magneto
Weapons and Accessories: Plan-B toys, McFarlane Toys
Detailing with Magic Sculpt and Vinyl
