Recipes

The Freedom Fighters customs are based on the amazing art of Carlos Barberi and Larry Stucker, as seen in "Justice League Unlimited" #17.

The recipes for each are as follows:

Sam uses the Mattel Joker body as a base, with new hands supplied by Flash. (New wrist articulation added.) His head is a Hasbro Ra's al Ghul. The Mattel Penguin figure was the source of the hat.

The stars on the hat and the stripes on Sam's pants and hat are strips of paper, previously printed on a laser printer. I applied them via decoupage, so as to save me the insanity-inducing labor of painting them.

Phantom lady is built on a Justice Lords Wonder Woman. The head was removed to allow for the placement of the cape, which is a combination of the second Wonder Woman release's cape and Booster Gold's collar. Her hair was sculpted. The goggles are made from green acetate, and the wrist bands are single chain links.

The Human Bomb's base body is Mirror Master. Only the top of the glove line was added. The covered head is an original sculpt.

Little Doll Man is a repainted tiny Atom, with a new vinyl collar and cape.

Black Condor employs Orion's body as a base, and a modified Superman noggin as a head. The mantle was shaped from Kneadatite using the "wrap and shape" method. Condor's cape is an unusual shape, so I opted to sew it, rather than using vinyl, hoping to create the necessary folds. That didn't happen as much as I'd like, but vinyl would have resulted in other problems. The cloth cape is glued to the mantle and tied to the wrists. Condor's diamond pattern was printed on a laser printer and applied via decoupage.

The Ray was made from an AMAZO body and Flash head, with a "fin" of Styrene.
