G.I. Joe Legends

This fall, Hasbro (teamed with Airmax Studios) will unveil it's 6in GI Joe "Legends" line. After dominating the 3 3/4in scale for so many years, Hasbro has made the decision to jump to the popular 6in scale. When asked why, Josh the Hasbro rep replied:

"Fans have been clamoring for it for years man! It seemed like a natural progression to the line. Everyone in house has been really jazzed about the idea as well, remember we're all fans of these characters as well. This opportunity has just been a dream come true for us. Rock!"

We were able to stop Airmax for a few words as he wiped dirt off his Air Jordans: "Gotta keep the sneakers clean you know? So fresh *and* so clean, and... It's not just a matter of having nice sneakers... oh! Yes, the figures! Yip! Well, I grew up on GI Joe and when Hasbro approached us to handle the customization of these figures we flipped! This project has been one of the best we've ever worked on. Hands down. As you know, we're predominantly known for our animated customs, but we've been looking at the 6in scale for a while, and this project was the perfect opportunity to jump in."

In the first wave, fans can expect to see 6in incarnations of their favorite G.I. Joe and Cobra characters including Roadblock, Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander among others. And if there's a character that you loved and they aren't represented, Airmax says "Don't worry! We're hopefully going to get around to everyone. There was such diversity in the Joe line from the start, that we could keep this line going for years and never have to re-tread the same ground.

There are even plans for army builder mail away figures. "The plan right now is to have some kind of deal where you can cut out UPCs and send em in for a Viper or Cobra Officers figure or something like that. So, if you buy the first wave of figure, you essentially get a free soldier for your troubles. We're still figuring out logistics at this point, but it will be something like that."

So, all you Joe fans ‐ get your wallets ready because this fall in Toys R Us' across the country, the call will be heard, "YYOOOOOoooo JOOEEeeeeee!!!!"
