Raving Toy Maniac & CustomCon 10 Present

Following up on the success of JLA Legends last year (with wave 2 slated for fall), Distant Thunder Studios unveils its next big wave BATMAN CLASSICS. The Dark Knight has been part of our culture for 65 years now, and Distant Thunder has been all too aware of the lack of strong action figures to represent this powerful icon. The fans have cried out for reasonable things, like classic costumes, supporting characters, full articulation, things easily found in Marvel Legends, but not so much on the DC side.

Until now.

Distant Thunder Studios is proud to bring the fans what they want.

THE JOKER

While the Clown Prince of Crime has never been short on figures, he’s featured prominently in every Batman line, there is always room for improvement, and that’s what this Joker is all about.   Featuring 18 points of articulation, and his trademark cane, this incarnation harks back to the classic image of the Joker from the 1940’s.

CLASSIC BATGIRL

In the minds of fans everywhere, there is only one true Batgirl.  And while a newer version is currently in the works, DTS thought it was important to make sure Barbara Gordon is never forgotten.  Featuring a cloth cape, batarangs and an astounding 32 points of articulation, Batgirl will always be everyone’s favorite redheaded ass-kicker.

NIGHTWING

Dick Grayson has always been a hero. His action figures, less so.  Having finally ditched the short shorts, the pimp collars, and all the other interesting trappings of his costume, Dick should’ve had no problem getting a cool action figure.  Almost.  So, this new Nightwing comes with his fighting sticks, and all he really needs:  27 points of articulation.  Now, Nightwing can finally prove he truly is the greatest acrobat in the DC universe.

KINGDOM COME BATMAN

DC fans were greeted with a very slick line of action figures last year, the DC Direct Kingdom Come line.  While these figures make nice display pieces, they won’t be taking on any Marvel Legends figures.  Until now.  This re-tooled elseworlds version has a much improved 19 points of articulation.  While not quite up to the spoiled 20+ points we’re all used to now, this strikes a nice balance between sculpt and play.  He still comes with his impressive wingspan and lance.  Even better, while they couldn’t be shown this time, DTS promises we’ll be seeing more of these versions come fall.

BATMAN

There can be doubt that Zipline Batman has been a much-needed addition to everyone’s Batman collection.  But let’s face facts:  Batman needs his elbows to fight crime.  Now, bolstered with 24 points of articulation, the Dark Knight can take on any foe, including the legendary ones.  He comes with a cloth cape and batarangs.  Wolverine not included (since the verdict is still out on who would win this fight anyway).
