Toy-Pix: Autographed Toy Pictures

Toy-Pix are here!

What are Toy-Pix?
October 2006 - Toy-Pix was an idea born from seeing several trends. First, the signatures of artists of all disciplines have always been in demand. From movie stars to comic book artists, to best selling novelists to rock and roll musicians, the artists that add beauty to our lives have been asked to sign a symbol of their work for posterity.

In recent years, the sculptors, painters and designers of action figures, statues, busts and other pop culture collectibles have been credited and recognized by the industry more and more. With this recognition have come fans of their specific work, and these fans have been asking them for autographs at conventions and shows.

But for folks working in this industry, it's tough to sign their creations. You can sign the toy or packaging, but that presents several issues. The package is often bulky, and has to be brought to a show. This is an issue particularly for folks that open their toys, and don't want to display the packaging. And if they don't attend the larger shows, there's really no way for them to obtain the signatures of their favorite artists.

So how can you get an autograph from your favorite sculptor, display it with your action figures or statues without it taking up space, and have it look as good as the rest of the display? Better yet, can you get it without attending a show?

That's where Toy-Pix comes in. Toy-Pix works with a wide variety of artists - sculptors, painters, designers, etc. - who have brought some of the finest collectibles to life. With Toy-Pix you can have their signature - and display it too!

Each Toy-Pix is a beautiful, glossy 8x10 photo, professionally printed, of a well known action figure, statue or bust, signed by one or more of the artists behind its creation. A small COA is affixed to the back, out of the sight but still your guarantee that it's an official Toy-Pix autograph. Each autograph also comes with an artist bio, and an archival quality plastic sleeve. And shipping to anywhere in the United States is absolutely free!

Each Toy-Pix is also an limited edition itself, numbered on the back. The edition size is determined by the number of people that order the autographed photo within the allotted time period. For our inaugural series of autographs, the period will be 14 days, from October 9th until October 27th, 2006. Everyone ordering during that period will be guaranteed their autographed photo, and on October 27th, the final edition size for each will be set, and all orders will be closed. Don't miss that window!

Not only are these artists talented, but they are generous as well. Because of their generosity, a portion of sales of Toy-Pix will be donated to a children's charity of their choosing, including Toys for Tots! Not only will you be buying a terrific collectible to add to your collection, but you'll be helping support this important charity.

Our inaugural series includes seven photos autographed by ten different artists. Remember, prices include shipping within the U.S.! They are:

Ardeth Bey/Brian Dooley - this sixth scale classic monster from Sideshow Toys was sculpted by the talented Brian Dooley, creator of many other Sideshow classics. The portrait photo will come signed by him. Price: $12.95

X-Files Cigarette Smoking Man/Andy Bergholtz - another sixth scale figure from Sideshow, CSM was sculpted by Andy Bergholtz, who will be autographing these portrait photos. Price $12.95

World of Springfield Mr. Burns/Ed Mosqueda - from the very first series of the World of Springfield comes this autographed photo of Burns. Ed Mosqueda was the sculptor, and will be signing the limited edition photos. Price $12.95

The Muppets Johnny Fiama - one of the best lines of the last decade was Palisades' Muppets. Ken Lilly was the creative force behind the line, and selected Johnny for his first autographed photo because he was one of his personal favorites. Price $12.95

Marvel Legends BAF Galactus - creating the paint master is one of the most critical steps in the creation of a great action figure, and Edward Wires is one of the best in the business. He did the paint master for Galactus, and will be autographing the limited portrait photos. Price $12.95

Sesame Street Super Grover - fans were disappointed when the Sesame Street line from Palisades never made it to shelves, but we did get lucky enough to get the Super Grover exclusive. Sculpted by the incomparable William Mancuso, who also did many of the Muppets sculpts, it will forever be a reminder of what could have been. Bill will be signing the limited edition photos. Price $12.95

Masters of the Universe Trapjaw/The Four Horsemen - fans of the Masters of the Universe revival line from Mattel will love this portrait photo of Trapjaw, signed by all four of the famous Four Horsemen. Price: $22.95

The Toy-Pix website is now open at www.toy-pix.com, but remember - sales for this inaugural series won't begin until October 9th. Be sure to visit between then and October 27th to place your order!

Future editions will include autographs from the artists behind many additional products for many other companies and licenses. If you'd like to know what plans are in store, sign up for our newsletter at the website, or drop us a line at [email protected]. Thanks!
