Due to a system glitch, which was quickly rectified, many items in the online retailers toy store were offered at incredibly deep discounts.

The mistakenly discounted items were offered for a few hours late Friday night and early Saturday morning, affecting a small percentage of orders according to an article in the Seattle Times.

Amazon.com sent customers an e-mail listing the correct prices and gave them the option of purchasing the items at the higher price or canceling the order, according to company policy. The company offered to credit the accounts of those who elected to cancel their orders. Amazon also gave customers a $5 gift certificate for the inconvience.
