Kelly vs the Living Dead

living dead doll size comparison

October 24, 2002 - With the rapid approach of Halloween, there is but one burning question on every collector's mind: "how will the Mini Living Dead Dolls fit into my collection of costumed Kelly dolls?"

As you can see in the image above, the answer is: perfectly. Kelly (Barbie's younger sister) and the Mini Living Dead Dolls (LDD) each stand 4.25" tall, while the regular Living Dead Dolls are about 10.5" tall. From left to right: Sadie (mini LDD), Liana ("Friend of Kelly), Penny (regular LDD), Damien (mini LDD), and Tommy ("Friend of Kelly").

The hands on both kinds of dolls are in the same basic "open doll hand" pose, so that they are "patty cake" compatible.

The Mini Living Dead Dolls have one advantage over both the regular LDDs and the Kelly dolls: they have ball joints for shoulders rather than cut joints. In the picture above, Posey shows off her ball-joint.

Being basically the same size means that clothing and accessories for each kind of doll can be used for the other. Shown above, Posey and Kelly trade dresses and shoes with no problems.

Unlike Kelly, Tommy is horrified that his clothes can fit Damien.
