OAK BROOK, Ill. (June 7, 2001) �This summer, participating McDonald's restaurants nationwide will celebrate a promotion that includes great New Tastes Menu™ products and Happy Meal premiums featuring Lilo & Stitch characters from Walt Disney Pictures' latest animated feature film.

McDonald's summer promotion begins on June 7. Starring in the New Tastes Menu portion of the promotion is the latest New Tastes Menu product � the flavorful Grilled Chicken Flatbread sandwich. The Lilo & Stitch Happy Meal in-restaurant promotion begins one week later, and runs from June 14 to July 11. Then, on June 28, selected restaurants will offer the Chocolate Banana Triple Thick™ Milk Shake and the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae.

The Grilled Chicken Flatbread sandwich is a tasty combination of warm, soft, seasoned flatbread wrapped around tender grilled chicken with creamy dressing, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and grilled onions.

The Lilo & Stitch promotion also brings surfing fun to McDonald's customers through a set of eight bobble-head Happy Meal toy premiums.

"We think customers will love the new Grilled Chicken Flatbread sandwich, and we're sure kids will have fun with the new Lilo & Stitch bobble-head Happy Meal premiums," said Douglas Freeland, director, McDonald's U.S. Marketing. "It's just another way McDonald's has helped customers to be a part of both the Disney and McDonald's experience."

The Happy Meal toys feature the movie's main characters: Lilo, Alien Stitch, Cobra Bubbles, Pleakley, Stitch as Elvis, Jumba, Nani and David. One toy is included with each Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal and is available at participating McDonald's restaurants, while supplies last.

Walt Disney Pictures' Lilo & Stitch is a delightful animated comedy that combines whimsical unforgettable characters with an imaginative and offbeat story. It tells a captivating tale of a young Hawaiian girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial.

Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog", whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment that escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering devotion to "ohana" (the Hawaiian concept of family), Lilo helps unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the one thing he was never designed to have � the ability to care for someone else. With its lush tropical setting, unique sense of humor and classic songs by Elvis Presley, Lilo & Stitch promises to capture imaginations everywhere. The movie features voices from Daveigh Chase, Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, Jason Scott Lee, Kevin McDonald, David Ogden Stiers and Ving Rhames, and opens in theaters nationwide on June 21.
