Godzilla from Bandai in 2002

Cypress, Calif. (April 10, 2002) - Bandai Creation, a subsidiary of Bandai America Inc., announced today a license from Sony Pictures Consumer Products to release a line of collectible action figures based on one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, Godzilla. The 180-foot Godzilla will be immortalized in the toy line modeled after the characters from various Godzilla movies.

The first set of toys will be available in fall 2002 and will include 6.5-inch and 2.5-inch action figures as well as 3.5-inch adventure sets. The action figures will feature five Godzilla designs along with six of his infamous signature rivals such as Rainbow Mothra, Anguirus and Destoroyah. Bandai Creation's Godzilla figures and adventure sets will be sold at specialty and select major retailers with prices varying from $5.99 - $19.99 (SRP). Bandai Creation will continue to add to the line with additional figures in spring 2003.

"The introduction of this toy line will produce a new generation of Godzilla fans while exciting current Godzilla enthusiasts and collectors."

Godzilla films, with their legendary displays of fearsome force and formidable foes, have pioneered special effects and showcased the talents of some of the world's most innovative directors, and continue to amaze audiences worldwide.
