TIMONIUM, MD (November 30, 2001) - Diamond Select Toys announces the first resin bust - Storm(tm) from Ultimate X-Men(tm) - to come out of its recent licensing agreement with Marvel Enterprises. The bust is based on the hit Ultimate comic line and is the first three-dimensional product to come out of that agreement. Being solicited in December for February shipping, Storm(tm) marks the beginning of a long line of busts to come from Diamond Select and Marvel.

One of the most popular and long-lived comic books in history, X-Men(tm) became a household name in 2000 thanks to a blockbuster film from Twentieth Century Fox. In testament to the film's popularity, a sequel is currently in the works and is slated for a 2002 release. Spin-offs and recreations have appeared in other forms as well, including a new top selling comic book (Ultimate X-Men(tm)), a new animated TV series (X-Men: Evolution(tm)), and a new live action TV series (Mutant X). With popular and recognizable characters like Wolverine(tm), Storm(tm), and Magneto(tm), the X-Men(tm) property is charging full speed into public consciousness, knocking down anything in its path.

In July of 2001, Diamond Select announced a deal with Marvel to develop resin busts as well as several other products based on Marvel's properties.
The first bust features the newly redesigned Storm(tm) from the hit Ultimate X-Men(tm) comic. The bust stands over 7 inches from top to bottom, and the mistress of the elements is posed as if she were caught in the midst of battle. A Special Edition is also available; limited to 500 pieces, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by sculptor Rudy Garcia. The product box will feature brand new artwork - a comic book version of the three-dimensional bust - from Ultimate X-Men(tm) designer and artist Adam Kubert. Upon seeing the bust for himself, Kubert commented, "There's nothing more exciting than seeing a character I've drawn come to life like this. The face and gesture is pure Storm!"

An interactive 360-degree rotation of the piece is available at Diamond Select's website at www.diamondselecttoys.com.

The Ultimate Storm bust is available for pre-order through the December issue of Diamond Comic Distributors' Previews catalog. The piece will be able to be found at comic book stores and specialty retail outlets when it
ships in February 2002.

Distribution of the Ultimate Storm bust is still available in several countries outside of North America. Please contact Diamond Select if interested.
