D'oh! Playmates Enters the World of Springfield!

Playmates Toys pleasantly surprised everyone with their recent annoucement of their upcoming Simpsons: World of Springfield toyline. There's been a clamoring amongst Simpsons fandom for a new line of products featuring these enduring characters. The World of Springfield features resistor coil technology, similar to Jakks' Titan Tron Live, to allow you to hear and interact with the various characters and their environment.

The Simpsons, which first began as a short animated segment of FOX's Tracy Ullman Show back in 1987 before graduating to their own Christmas Special, and regular series, in 1989. The Simpsons is currently the longest-running primetime comedy series on the air, a dubious distinction for any series - let alone an animated one.
