NAKNAK at McDonald's

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Feb. 13, 2003 -- NAKNAK, one of the newest products from Hasbro, Inc., has just hit retail shelves and will be supported by a McDonald's(R) Happy Meal promotion this spring. NAKNAK, a line of STACKING BATTLE figures, is a completely new way to play - kids can collect them and use them to challenge opponents in stacking competitions.

"Each year we review many Happy Meal concepts and NAKNAK has what it takes to be a fun, innovative promotion for our Happy Meal customers," said Karlin Linhardt, Senior Director, Marketing, McDonald's.

The NAKNAK world is a wild place where everyone stacks. Kids can challenge themselves and each other with over 90 different NAKNAK characters that can be posed in 80 different positions and stacked in unique ways. Each NAKNAK character belongs to groups called NAKNAK CLIKS, such as ROBO-NAKS, HUMANAKS, ALIENAKS figures and more. Each CLIK has different designs that give kids additional stacking options and new challenges. Kids use their NAKNAK figures to compete in "NAKNAK Challenges," where they stack them against an opponent. NAKNAK figures also have a distinctive clicking sound that is sure to make NAKNAK a household sound as well as a household word.

"NAKNAK gives kids a play experience like never before," said Brian Goldner, President of Hasbro's U.S. toy group. "We are very excited that McDonald's has selected Hasbro's NAKNAK brand for a Happy Meal promotion. Their enthusiasm in working with this brand in its launch phase is a valuable indicator that kids will love the NAKNAK line."

Seven collectible, monster-themed NAKNAK figures will be available exclusively in McDonald's Happy Meals during the promotion at participating U.S. McDonald's restaurants, while supplies last. Also featured will be exclusive NAKNAK stickers, carrying cases, accessories and stacking bases.

The McDonald's Happy Meal NAKNAK promotion will be supported by television advertising, in-store merchandising and packaging.

Hasbro launched a national television advertising campaign for the NAKNAK brand last week. Also, kids can GET THE NAK TO STACK at sampling events at major retailers over the next few months.

In addition to NAKNAK figures, Hasbro will introduce new NAKNAK CLIK with new sculpts and designs that give kids additional stacking options and new challenges. Playsets and accessories will be available later this year to bring the fun to a new "level." (Approximate retail price: $3.50-24.99; many items available now at major toy stores and mass merchandise outlets.)
