DJ Skribble Spinheads

HOUSTON -- Dec. 3, 2002 -- DSI Toys Inc. has entered into an agreement with DJ Skribble, popular MTV personality, frequent guest DJ on the network's popular "TRL (Total Request Live)" show and widely recognized as the industry's #1 DJ, to lend his name and likeness to an innovative and exciting new line of musical toys called DJ SKRIBBLE SPINHEADS(TM), it was announced today by Joseph Whitaker, DSI Toys president and CEO. An industry leader in electronic musical toys, DSI Toys plans to unveil the DJ SKRIBBLE SPINHEADS(TM) line to the public next February at the American International Toy Fair in New York City.

"Few things define a generation more directly than their choice of music and fashion," says Whitaker. "The DJ movement has been gaining steady momentum with kids, with DJ mixing equipment outselling electric guitars since 1997." Even more remarkable, according to MIXER magazine, is the fact that since 1999 unit sales of mixing equipment has outpaced electric guitars at the rate of 2 to 1. "DJ Skribble is at the forefront of this movement," states Whitaker, "and DSI Toys is excited to be taking a leadership position with this cutting-edge youth phenomenon."

"DJ's today do much more than just play records," explains Whitaker. He points to the emergence of DJ's as artists in their own right with today's kids emulating them as both performers and producers. Digital music has become the norm and today's kids do much more than just passively listen; they create custom mixes of their favorite songs and frequently remaster them. "The DJ SKRIBBLE SPINHEADS(TM) and accessories will reflect this trend, and with industry innovator DJ Skribble as our partner, take it to an exciting new level of play," adds Whitaker.

Readers of SPIN magazine recently voted DJ Skribble "Best DJ in the World" and he has been similarly feted by numerous other industry media. No stranger to mega-events, he was the DJ for the Times Square Y2K Millennium blowout and most recently was one of the featured performers at the monster NFL opening day festivities in Times Square in New York City.
