Powerpuff Girls Debut with Big Campaign

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 3 -- BAM! Entertainment, a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced a multi-faceted promotional campaign that coincides with the North American debut of The Powerpuff Girls Movie. The campaign includes television advertising, national retailer promotions, in-theatre sponsorship, direct mail, discount coupons and gift-with-purchase retailer strategic arrangements.

"The success of The Powerpuff Girls brand is due in part to great partnerships, like the one we have with BAM! Entertainment," said James Porges, vice president of off-channel commerce for Cartoon Network.

"Not only does BAM! already offer great video game products based on our brand, but now they have partnered with us to bring additional exposure to the opening of the movie with great offers for our viewers -- The Powerpuff Girls fans."

"This promotional campaign is one of the broadest in BAM! Entertainment's history," said Jill Braff, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for BAM! Entertainment. "In celebration of the theatrical debut of the movie, we wanted to bring some great deals and exciting offers to our customers who love our portfolio of Cartoon Network video game products. With great consumer marketing and retailer tie-ins, we aim to make The Powerpuff Girls the titles to own this year."

The Powerpuff Girls, is one of Cartoon Network's most popular series. Airing daily on Cartoon Network, The Powerpuff Girls attracts nearly 19 million viewers per week. In addition, consumer products featuring the trio are immensely popular in a variety of categories, including BAM! Entertainment's lineup of video games.

Key elements of the marketing campaign include:

Television advertisements
Starting July 8, for two weeks Cartoon Network will air prime time advertising, showcasing The Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-traction and The Powerpuff Girls: Mojo Jojo's Pet Project.

Theatre promotions
BAM! and Cartoon Network will sponsor 500,000 concession trays in 1,100 theatres nationwide and a "One Million Scan and Win" Contest. A co-sponsorship with Toys R Us where movie tickets can be used to scan and win prizes at local Toys R Us retailers.

Retail promotions
Customized display units will appear from mid-June to August in major retail stores, including: Toys R Us, Fry's Electronics, Wherehouse Music and Ames/Babbages, GameStop, FuncoLand, Software Etc., AAFEES (military commissary stores) and grocery store chains.


In addition, BAM! has partnered with Toys R Us to send out direct mailers with a $5.00 off coupon to more than 250,000 Toys R Us customers and a Powerpuff Girls Music CD sampler, will be a gift with purchase at point of sale at Toys R US retail stores.

BAM! Entertainment's current lineup of Cartoon Network products available include The Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-Traction(TM) for Nintendo(R) 64 and PlayStation(TM) One, The Powerpuff Girls: (TM) Mojo Jojo A-Go-Go for Nintendo Game Boy(TM) Advance, The Powerpuff Girls: Mojo Jojo's Pet Project(TM) for PC, Dexter's Laboratory(TM) Deesaster Strikes for Game Boy Advance, as well as Dexter's Laboratory: Science Ain't Fair(TM) for PC.

BAM! will bring The Powerpuff Girls to next generation consoles for the first time this fall with a PlayStation(R) 2 game. In addition, BAM's fall lineup of Cartoon Network games includes The Powerpuff Girls: Gamesville for PC and Dexter's Laboratory: Chess Challenge for Game Boy Advance. BAM! Entertainment will also offer its first Samurai Jack(TM) video game product this fall for Game Boy Advance. For more information on these and all of BAM!
