April 1, 2002 - ToyBizzy announced today that they are offering an eight-inch hyper-articulated Captain England action figure as an exclusive to car dealerships in Essex in the UK.
To obtain the figure, one must mail-in for a test drive form: the form requires four UPC codes from 12-inch Lord of the Dance action figures. Once it arrives the mail, the form must be taken to a Hyundee auto dealership in Essex and be properly filled out by a salesperson upon completion of a test drive. (You must be an Essex resident to obtain the form.)
The figure is eight inches tall, has five points of articulation, including a neck twist, and comes in an opaque white baggie with Hyundee header card.
"We are proud to be partnered with ToyBizzy on this exciting promotion," said Essex Hyundee Sales Group head Liam Ian. "ToyBizzy is a quality toy company, and that reputation might even help us sell an auto or two."
"Hyundee asked us to make this Captain England action figure something special, something which would really stand out," added ToyBizzy spokesperson Bob O'Neill. "Eight inches is a size that hasn't yet been tapped much in the Marvelous Universe, so there's no chance of the Captain England figure blending in with the rest of people's collections."
RTM regrets that fans in North America and everyplace else in the world outside of Essex are out of luck with this exclusive toy, but don't fret too much - it's just part of our April Fool's news!
