WowWee Unveils 2008 Product Line

WowWee Unveils Most Extensive and Innovative Product Line To-Date

2008 Product Portfolio Features Technologically Advanced Innovations
that Walk, Talk, Crawl, Fly and Purr

HONG KONG - January 5, 2008 - WowWee, an Optimal Group company, today announced its cutting edge product portfolio for 2008 which is being unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (January 7-10th). From a WiFi enabled robotic webcam to an indoor flying machine with onboard navigation, WowWee continues to forge new categories in personal robotics and entertainment products that are both imaginative and inventive. Consumers can expect to see four distinct product divisions -- WowWee Robotics™, WowWee FlyTech™, WowWee Alive™, and WowWee Fun™ - with something for every member of the family, including robot enthusiasts.

WowWee Robotics

In 2008, WowWee Robotics will feature yet another product line of technologically advanced innovations that will shape the way we interact with entertainment robotic companions. The Rovio™ robot, a revolution in home exploration and telepresence, is a WiFi enabled robotic webcam that moves in all directions with ease and can be controlled remotely using any web accessible device including a cell phone, PC or video game console. Through a built-in camera that streams video and audio, users can view and interact with Rovio's environment, surveying their home or office remotely through streaming video and audio transmitted via the Rovio robot. The Rovio robot is also the first to feature the NorthStar® smart navigation and positioning system, which represents a major breakthrough in robotics. Working like a micro-GPS system, the NorthStar system enables the Rovio robot to know where it is, locate the position of other objects, and navigate from place to place with pinpoint accuracy, entirely under its own control.

WowWee Robotics is also pioneering the latest in robotic companionship with Mr. Personality™, an interactive robot that exudes personality in everything he does and says. The Mr. Personality robot features a full-color LCD screen that displays his personality with animated and synchronized facial features and new personalities that can be downloaded and transferred to Mr. Personality via USB or media card. Through advanced infrared and audio sensors, the Mr. Personality robot interacts with his environment and entertains his human companions with jokes, conversations, games and daily fortunes found in various play modes.

In 2008, consumers can expect to meet Tribot™, the next generation of WowWee's award-winning Robosapien™ robot. A three-wheeled personality-packed companion, the Tribot robot is equipped with different play modes for hours of entertainment - joke telling, story sequences, games and more. Complete with distinct expressions and animated eyebrows, the Tribot robot features an omni-directional motion easily controlled by a tilt sensor remote control.

The FemiSapien™ robot, a sophisticated humanoid interactive friend with distinctly fluid movements, features elegant gestures and dance moves controlled only by her 4-way joystick hands. She also features infrared, audio, and tilt sensors that enable her to synchronize her dance moves to music. The FemiSapien robot even speaks her own language of emotive sounds -- and responds to users' gestures, touch and sound.

WowWee Robotics has also breathed life into a series of mischievous robotic characters named Chatterbot™ and Wrex the Dawg™. WowWee Chatterbot robots are fun, animated computer accessories that provide hours of entertainment with an unpredictable stream of jokes, dialogue, and comments about the user's virtual life. These collectible figurines connect to a PC or Mac via USB cable, enabling them to launch humorous quips and comments based on the user's email, calendar, applications, web browsing, and instant messaging activity. Users can trigger their own custom-made responses using the included software or can use the Chatterbot collectible as a speaker to listen to music from an MP3 player or other external audio source. Wrex the Dawg is not your typical robotic pet - he's a junkyard dog, built from discarded mechanical and electrical parts, in dire need of re-programming. This incorrigible creation is the perfect guard dog with three desires and distinct moods - happy, angry and crazy! - that change just like a real dog, and can be re-programmed to behave like a cat or perform wild actions.

The WowWee RoboRemote™ controller is also new, designed to be used with any robot in the WowWee product line controlled by IR sensors. Program and assign a control function to a button, and then use it to direct your favorite WowWee robots, including Robosapien, Robosapien V2, Roboreptile™, RS Media™, and more. The RoboRemote controller software allows users to create numerous sequences of actions that can be stored directly onto the remote controller.

WowWee FlyTech

The award-winning WowWee FlyTech line of aeronautical products will expand in 2008, with FlyTech Bladestar™, a revolutionary indoor machine with unique sensor detection, set to change helicopter flight as we know it today. The first flying toy with sensor-based navigation that enables it to glide itself through the air with two wings that spin with helicopter-like movement, the Bladestar flyer is made from ultra-light, flexible materials designed to be crash resistant. Built-in infrared sensors allow the indoor flyer to detect and avoid obstacles - consumers can even face-off two Bladestar flyers in a duel! The FlyTech line of indoor flyers will also feature a diverse collection of vertical flyers including the FlyTech™ Bat, the FlyTech™ Dragon and, new for girls, the FlyTech™ FairyFly, which comes in four seasonal designs. In addition, the FlyTech™ Butterfly, which is also new for girls, FlyTech™ Mosquito and FlyTech Moth™ flyers feature a simple launching dock instead of a remote controller -- the perfect introduction to flight for more novice flyers.

WowWee Alive

WowWee Alive brings baby animals to life with WowWee Alive™ Lion Cub, the first playmate in a new series of lovable animatronic animals. Alive Lion Cub features realistic fur, an animated face, and recorded lion cub sounds activated by touch and tilt sensors. This cuddly, interactive companion even has lifelike responses - pick him up by the scruff of the neck and his legs will go limp, like a real cub being carried by its mother, or leave him alone for five minutes and he will purr himself into sleep mode. The Alive Lion Cub will be joined by the Alive™ Panda Cub, Alive™ Polar Bear Cub, and the Alive™ White Tiger Cub.

WowWee Fun

WowWee Fun will launch the latest robotic, collectible crawlies - Bug-Bots™, colorful, miniature insects that move and act like real bugs. Equipped with either small wheels or tread, each Bug-Bot insect has different locomotion and special skills. Bug-Bot insects also have touch sensors that allow them to interact with one another like a real insect swarm. The WowWee Fun line will also feature Mini FemiSapien, Mini Tribot, and Mini Wrex the Dawg miniature products, which are battery-operated, scaled-down versions of their full-sized counterparts.

WowWee's 2008 line is being shown for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show, Booth #72438, Sands Expo & Convention Center.
