Trek Toys Rescued From Limbo

 With the recent cancellation of many Target Star Trek Exclusives, itlooked as if collectors in the U.S. would have to look to the often expensive international market to keep their Trek collections up-to-date, but that is no longer the case. New Force Comics and Collectibles, the company that brought us Captain Janeway from "Flashback," has been in negotiations with Playmates to become the sole U.S. disitributor of the 12" "Piece of the Action" Kirk and Spock duo and the "Amok Time" Twin Pack. The 12-inch scale Captain James T. Kirk and Mister Spock from "A Piece of the Action" duo from New Force is a already a done deal, with 70% of the 1000 sets having been pre-sold as of this writing. The cost per set is $69.99 + $5.01 shipping. These figures will be the first 12-inch figures to be individually numbered and all Kirk and Spock sets will be sold with matching numbers. Thanks to New Force and the folks on the Playtrek mailing list, Spock will get two regular hands instead of the perpetual Vulcan salute most Spock figures are forced to suffer. New Force is still awaiting word on whetheror not our favorite gangsters will come equipped with tommy guns.  The "Amok Time" Twin Pack from New Force is nearly a done deal aswell and can only be thwarted by lack of interested buyers. The set includes Kirk and Spock, both sporting new torso molds and armed with their Vulcan lirpas. The production runfor the New Force version will be 3000 units with a of cost $19.99 + $4 shipping.
