Tiger's HitClips Make Their Retail Debut

has_hitclips_logo.jpg - 7219 BytesHasbro's Tiger Electronics unites the record industry and the toy world together with the retail introduction of the ground-breaking micro- technology called HitClips™. FAO Schwartz hosts the retail debut on Thursday, Sept 28th with a live concert on the Plaza in New York City, featuring new pop sensation Dream Street.

Mega pop stars Britney Spears, `N Sync, Faith Hill, Sugar Ray, M2M, Smash Mouth and more will be participating in a new micro-chip media the size of a postage stamp. Edited versions of their singles will be the hot collectible for kids and will be enjoyed in a whole new format. These media-chips will be playable on a complete line of micro-players - some even about the size of a quarter.

HitClips micro music system is based around a series of micro-sized pre-recorded chips with digital samplings of today's top songs, bringing the biggest recording artists to the smallest size. Unique technology, design and affordability will make HitClips the ultimate music system for kids!

HitClips gives kids the chance to collect hit single samplers in a micro-sized format, no bigger than a postage stamp. Each micro mix of music will come on individual clips that measure less than 1`` x 1''. HitClips media can also become a new fashion phenomenon. Each can be clipped to backpacks, clothing, jewelry and throughout their rooms, lockers and environments. The great price point of only $3.99-$4.99 will be attractive for kids to collect and trade with their friends.has_hitclips_players.jpg - 9233 Bytes

``We are thrilled to partner with the hottest record labels: Jive/Zomba, Atlantic, Capitol and more. Tiger's long history of high-tech kid and pre-teen products paired with the hottest artists makes HitClips a top priority for the company,'' says Roger Shiffman, president of Tiger Electronics.

Kids and pre-teens are driving record-breaking music sales. HitClips is a cutting-edge music system that will offer a new media platform.

``We're very impressed with Tiger's new music medium,'' says Ivan Gavin of Zomba. ``Music in micro-chips represents an innovative leap for the music and toy industries to reach the consumer in an exciting new way.''

``HitClips is an incredibly innovative new music product for kids. Atlantic Records is thrilled to be working in partnership with Hasbro & Tiger. HitClips provides us with an excellent vehicle in which to encourage kids to become music enthusiasts,'' said Lee Stimmel, Vice President, Marketing, Atlantic Records.

Toy retailers are excited for the opportunity to sell a unique product that also crosses over into the music industry.

``HitClips is incredible. Tiger knows how to create the biggest hits in the toy industry,'' says David Niggli, COO of FAO Schwarz.

HitClips will be able to be played in a series of innovative micro-players:

HitClips Micro Player is a personal micro-sized player featuring a single earbud for listening, and includes one of many top artists. Approximate retail: $7.99.

HitClips Rockin' Micro Boombox is the smallest boombox around. Measuring 2`` x 3'', it's smaller than a trading card! The tiny high performance speaker will pound out all the HitClip beats and hits. Approximate Retail: $9.99.

HitClips Alarm Clock - The hot new way to wake up doubles as a clip storage facility and jukebox. The multi-changer holds 6 micro clips that can be programmed to play when the alarm is triggered. Now kids can choose the song they want to wake up to, hit the snooze button and hear it again 5 minutes later. Approximate Retail: $14.99.

In addition to the clip players, the HitClips collection includes the Yahoo! HitClips Downloader. The downloader allows kids to record audio clips from their computer by simply plugging the unit into the headphone jack of the PC.

The downloader itself features NO software installation or advanced computer knowledge to use. Just plug it in and play your favorites on the computer, and the audio will record on the ``recordable clip''. The removable clip can be played in the downloader itself, or on the entire line of HitClips players. And at less than $25, the downloader makes great sound available for everyone. Approximate Retail: $19.99 - $24.99.
