Diamond Select: Comic-Con Summary

DIAMOND SELECT TOYS' SAN DIEGO COMIC CON SUMMARY!

July 2006 - This year's San Diego Comic Convention marks another grand undertaking by Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles LLC! Plans for the event include a wide selection of exclusives, several celebrity guests, contests and even a blood drive! Below is a schedule of events as well as a summary of this year's exclusives and activities, so be sure to visit booth #2607!

Exclusives

- Mohawk Storm bust - Based on her appearance during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's famous run on Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men, this all-new exclusive Storm bust shows the weather goddess wearing a leather vest, studded collar and edgy mohawk along with her lethal blade - ready to take on Callisto for control of the Morlocks! Sculpted by Sam Greenwell, this 5 ½" bust is guaranteed to move quickly the moment the show opens. $50 limited to 750 pieces.

- "Where No Man Has Gone Before" Kirk in Command Chair - As part of the 40th anniversary of STAR TREK, prepare to beam up this deluxe Captain's Chair set! Featuring Captain Kirk as seen in "Where No Man Has Gone Before," the set delivers an intricate chair design unique to this episode! In scale with past releases and sculpted by Art Asylum, prepare to boldly go where no man has gone before! $25

- Marvel Select Black Spider-Woman - After receiving her powers through secret experiments by the Commission on Superhuman Activities, Julia Carpenter took up the Spider-Woman name and replaced the presumed-dead Jessica Drew as a member of the Avengers. Standing 7 inches tall and including a detailed Hydra base, the Marvel Select Black Spider-Woman is in scale with past Marvel Select releases and will feature the line's trademark deluxe packaging. $20

- "Mirror, Mirror" Uhura (DST), McCoy (New Force Comics, Booth #5439), Sulu (Action Figure Xpress, Booth #4205), Chekov (Entertainment Earth, Booth #2343) and Marlena Moreau - When purchasing the $15 "Mirror, Mirror" Uhura, McCoy, Sulu and Chekov figures from their respective retailers, con-goers will be able to have a special STAR TREK card stamped at each booth. Upon completing this card and returning to the Diamond Select Toys booth during the convention, fans will receive the "Mirror, Mirror" Marlena Moreau figure at no cost, completing the "Mirror, Mirror" set!

Celebrity Guests

- BarBara Luna - STAR TREK's Marlena Moreau will be signing autographs on Friday from 11 am - 1 pm. Receive a free autograph ticket with purchase of all four "Mirror, Mirror" exclusives! Additional autograph tickets will be available for $15.

- Nichelle Nichols - STAR TREK's Lieutenant Uhura will be signing autographs on Saturday 11 am - 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm. This $25 package includes the "Mirror, Mirror" Uhura exclusive figure and one autograph ticket. Additional autograph tickets will be available for $20.

- Clare Kramer - Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Glory will be signing autographs on Sunday 11 am - 1 pm and 2pm - 4pm. Autograph tickets will be available for $20.

Retail Debuts

- BTVS Glory - Beginning on Wednesday, July 19th and continuing through Sunday, July 23rd, fans will be able to pre-order Titan Publishing's exclusive "Red Dress" Glory figure and receive a free issue of the Buffy magazine!

- Deluxe Angel & Spike - Buffy's favorite vamps make their deluxe action figure debut with this super-articulated release! Also look for Time and Space Toys' 50's Angel and Action Figure Xpress' "School Hard" Spike!

- Star Trek: TNG Picard & Troi - The top-selling STAR TREK line continues with Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Counselor Deanna Troi! Also look for Entertainment Earth's Counselor Troi, Toy Rocket's "All Good Things..." Picard and Action Figure Xpress' First Contact Picard!

- Stargate SG-1 Series 1 - The Stargate SG-1 action figures make their world debut with Colonel O'Neill, Dr Jackson and the Jaffa Serpent Guard! Start building your Stargate during the convention and remember to collect four UPC's for the free Elite Serpent Guard figure! Plus, spend $60 on Stargate merchandise at the DST booth and receive a Free Comic Book Day Jack O'Neill figure!

Special Events

- Blood Drive - To emphasize the importance of giving blood, Diamond Select will be donating 700 limited edition Buffy the Vampire Slayer Spike figures as giveaways for participating donors. This year's Blood Drive will take place at the Marriott on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Sunday, July 23 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Blood Drive registration booth will still be located in the Sails Pavilion on the Convention Center's top floor for all your onsite questions and registration before going over to the Marriott. Please register by 5:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and by 2:00 PM on Sunday. You can also pre- register to give blood online.

- Captain's Chair - A life-size replica of the original Captain's Chair will be on display for fans to have their picture taken in each day at noon! Just spend $60 on STAR TREK merchandise at the DST booth for your free ticket!

- Contests - DST's largest contests to date will be run throughout the show! Enter to win 28 seasons of STAR TREK on DVD plus a DVD player, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5 DVD signed by Joss Whedon plus a DVD player, a Playstation 2 with X-Men: The Last Stand game, and Stargate SG-1 Seasons 1-4 on DVD plus a DVD player and complete set of Stargate SG-1 action figures!
