Palisades Items in Katrina Auction

PALISADES CONTRIBUTES TO KATRINA RELIEF AUCTION

Elkridge, MD (September 28, 2005) - In the wake of Hurricane Katrina's devastation to the Gulf Coast, the Toy Community has rallied together to do their part in assisting with Disaster Relief. Palisades Toys has joined numerous other toy and collectible manufacturers, brought together by Toy Shop Magazine, and contributed unique items for The Toy Shop Katrina Relief Auction, which is going on now and will continue through October 11, 2005. All of the auction lots can be viewed, here: http://www01.charityfolks.com/index.asp.

Here are the one-of-a kind Palisades items that are available to bid on:

Terminator 2: T-800 "2 Up" Paint Master Prototype
A fully painted pre-production sample of the T-800 from Palisades' upcoming Terminator 2 4-inch scale action figure line.

This particular prototype is what is known internally as a "Paint Master", which means that it is produced specifically to be sent to China for the factory to use as a reference guide to produce the finished product. Additionally, this prototype is a "2-Up," meaning that it is twice the size that the finished product will be. (As this is a four inch scale action figure line, this prototype stands over eight inches tall.)

Unlike the finished product, which will be plastic, this 2-Up Paint Master is made of resin, a durable material that is poured into a mold in liquid form but then sets to create a hard-surfaced casting. Even though the joints and articulation are cut in, this figure does not move, since many of the joint seams are glued in place to create the paint master and keep it from falling apart. Only two of this particular prototype exist, and the second one will be sent to the factory during production, and will most likely be destroyed in the process. A third sample, called a Tour Sample, is often created and sent to events, but there where no Tour Samples created of this particular prototype.

Included is a signed certificate of authenticity from Palisades Toys President & CEO, Michael Horn, so that you can be sure you're getting the real thing!

Sleepy Hollow: Sword of the Headless Horseman One-of-a-Kind Prototype
It's the prop replica that collectors have been losing their heads over all year - The Sword of the Headless Horseman, from Tim Burton's creepy, gothic film Sleepy Hollow. However, this is a one-of-a-kind prototype of the replica, which was used during the production process at Factory X. While this prototype may look like the final product at first glance, the serpentine hilt is significantly darker, and features a black "flecked" pattern, which does not appear on the final product. Measuring over three and a half feet long, this prototype of The Sword of the Headless Horseman is made of the highest quality stainless steel and other materials.

It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Factory X President & CEO, Michael Horn, so that you can be sure you're getting the real thing!

Alien: Signature Alien Queen Statue One-of-a-Kind Sample
In 2005, after over two years of producing high quality Alien statues and busts, Palisades Toys unveiled its Alien Signature Series of statues. The second statue in the Signature Series is a film-accurate representation of the dreaded Queen Alien from the 1986 sequel, Aliens... and it has been so well received that it has quickly become a must-have among Alien collectors all over the world. Standing a monstrous 18 inches tall even without the 2 inch tall display base, the Alien Queen Statue features a stunning attention to detail, precisely replicating the monster in the film.

While the regular version of the Alien Queen Signature Statue is limited to 1500 pieces worldwide, this is a special one-of-a-kind factory-produced sample of a "silver" Alien Queen. Made from resin, it is an abandoned concept piece for a possible exclusive sale that was never finalized, and is the one and only sample that exists in the world and it will never be issued for retail sale.

It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Palisades Toys President & CEO, Michael Horn, so that you can be sure you're getting the real thing!
