Four Horsemen Projects Revealed

fourhorsemenlogo1.jpg - 10191 Bytes

During the recent Comic Con International in San Diego RTM took the opportunity to sit down with the Four Horsemen, a group of former McFarlane Toys designers (James Preziosi, H.Eric "Cornboy" Mayse, Chris Dahlberg and Eric Treadaway) who have struck out on their own and landed a deal with Mattel.

Since the Horsemen first announced the signing of a year-long exclusive contract with Mattel speculation has been running rampant in the toy industry as to what the Horsemen were up to.

It turns out that the quartet is hard at work on Harry Potter related products for the world's largest toy company.

Currently they are working on a series of four high-end, highly detailed cold cast statues based on the first book, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. While they couldn't go into much detail, the four statues are:

  • Harry on a broom above the school
  • 3 characters and a troll in a bathroom
  • kids in potion
  • Hagrid

The Four Horsemen were also able to reveal that Mattel is developing two Harry Potter action figure lines. The first one is based on the first book, and the second will be based on next years big budget film adaption of the first novel. Currently the Horsemen aren't working on the action figures, but it's likely they'll be pulled into the project at some point later.

Other items they've developed for Mattel are two Hot Wheels Planet Micro playsets, described as an "unexpected pleasure for us" and a new villain for the Max Steel line.

We'll bring you more information on the Four Horsemen soon.
