April 2005 - Visually-striking and steeped in myth, the new Little Apple Doll: Ianua Figure is available exclusively in North America through Diamond Comic Distributors!

Little Apple Dolls are a unique visual combination of fetus, toddler, and skeleton with faces that are not fully formed. Unsettling yet beautiful, these distinctive characters inhabit the Inbetween Place, representing the border between life and death. Ianua's name is pronounced "Jan-nu-wa," meaning "door/doorway," and echoes the month of January through the Roman god of doorways/beginnings, Janus.

The Little Apple Dolls first came to life in the photographic works of artist Ufuoma Urie, exploring myths regarding creation and destruction. Symbolically, the apple has represented temptation as an alluring yet tainted object not appearing as it seems. The apple is desired but ultimately unsettles those who come into contact with it.

Sporting an articulated body and a high-quality outfit inspired by Gothic Lolita fashion, the Little Apple Doll: Ianua Figure stands 14.5" tall. Imported from England and scheduled to ship in October 2005, Ianua is packed with her own "Little Apple" and another secret accessory to add intrigue to the series mythology.
