TEMPE, Ariz., February 10, 2005 -- McFarlane Toys will host a special event at the McFarlane Toys Store and Showroom at 8945 S. Harl, suite 112, in Tempe, Thursday, Feb. 17 from 7am to 10am in conjunction with the kick-off of the NBA All-Star Jam in Denver. The event will feature a special live broadcast with 910AM XTRA Sports jocks Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki and McFarlane Toys founder and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane will be on-hand to greet fans. The store will open at 7am and the public is invited to view the live radio broadcast.
McFarlane Toys will be selling exclusive versions of two of the NBA's most dynamic players -- Carmelo Anthony and Latrell Sprewell -- beginning at 7am on Thursday, Feb. 17 at the McFarlane Toys Store. The figures are priced at $10 each, with a limit of two of each figure per household. Both figures are individually packaged and will be produced in very limited quantities. Additionally, a limited quantity of the exclusive figures will be available for purchase through the McFarlane Toys Collector's Club -- which operates through the online store at mcfarlane.com.
The Anthony figure is McFarlane Toys Sports Picks NBA All-Star Jam exclusive and features the forward in his Denver Nuggets Hardwood Classics jersey driving hard to the net. The Sprewell figure is the guard/forward representing his current team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and sculpted in mid-dunk pose. Each figure features a base and ball, and exclusive clamshell packaging.
During the live radio broadcast McFarlane Toys will be featuring giveaways and special pricing on selected McFarlane Toys products. Fans will also be able to tour the McFarlane Toys Showroom, which features prototype figures in custom sets, and is decorated with sports and film memorabilia, much of it from the McFarlane Toys archives.
