Northampton, MA June 1st, 2004: GameTable Online, Inc. and WizKids, Inc. reached an agreement to create the first online Collectable Miniatures Game (CMG). GameTable Online will host a digital version of Creepy Freaks, WizKids' gross-out 3D strategy game, on their website. Creepy Freaks has recently been nominated for "Best Abstract Board Game" by the acclaimed Origins Awards.
"GameTable Online and WizKids are breaking new ground by bringing this style of game to the Internet. Collectable Card Games have done well online, but this is the first CMG to go digital," said Joe Minton, President of Game Table Online. As with all GameTable Online games, Creepy Freaks will look and play exactly like its tabletop counterpart. Each player will be able to collect, trade, and build teams from their computer.
Once Creepy Freaks Online is ready for play later this year, everyone who registers on GameTable Online will automatically receive a starter pack and two random figures and will be able to play for free during their two week trial period. Once a player joins the site, they gain more figures by winning matches, playing lots of games, winning online tournaments and trading with other players.
