SubCultures Summer Exclusive Figure

April 29, 2004 - Hollywood, FL - Oh it's nearing that season once again! SUMMER CONVENTION EXCLUSIVE TIME! That's right! Nothing gets the action figure fans more frustrated then those super-cool hard to find exclusives they'll never own!

In a effort to add to the madness, SubCultures Design is offering a very bad, very exclusive and utterly-pointless Rex Ganon exclusive.

"There is nothing better then really ripping off the fans and making a quick buck, that's why I spent hours developing the Rex Ganon con exclusives," said SubCultures Founder (and part time fashion model) Jesse "R Hunter" DeStasio.

The exclusives will be randomly inserted into regular Rex Ganon boxes (which are blind) and will consist of 10 repainted Rex Ganon figure heads. They are all painted by hand and will include Battle Damaged Rex, Bearded Sailor Rex, Rex's Roommate Vaughn (who looks very strangely similar to Rex). There is also a GermAsian Royal Guard (which uses a Plan B toys SWAT head) which explains the origin of the outfit the Rex Figure wears. A crappy piece of paper will be inserted with these to inform the consumer that they have the winner.

"It's going to be awesome! People who already bought a Rex figure will have no way of guaranteeing they'll get one of the exclusives. And the people that probably end up with the exclusives won't know or care!"

You can look for these limited 10 figures to be sold amongst the regular 2,500 Rex Ganon figures at the following shows:

July 2nd GI Joe Convention, Orlando
July 22nd San Diego Comic Con
Aug 12th Wizard World Chicago

"I am also thinking of instating a ridiculous deli-ticket policy," adds DeStasio, "This will only let a few selected people have the opportunity to purchase these, after waiting in a long line. Now that's a con exclusive."
