3-Inch Dunny Blind Assortment

dunny

NEW YORK CITY, APRIL 19, 2004 - Kidrobot, a leading designer and retailer of limited-edition vinyl action figures, today announced that it will unveil its first original blind assortment mini-figure series entitled Dunny Series One this Thursday April 22nd at the Kidrobot Store from 6-8 PM.

dunny

Dunny Series One is a 3-inch tall mini-figure made of soft vinyl and is customized by twelve artists with backgrounds in toy design, graffiti and illustration. The toys sell for just $5.95 each, and are packaged individually in a "blind assortment" box. This means that until the box is opened, the customer is kept in suspense as to which Dunny he/she has received. The element of chance makes the toys very exciting for collectors, who trade them in order to make complete sets on the Kidrobot web site and eBay.

Each Dunny comes with a small card-size of art designed by the artist and a secret accessory. Among the artists that have customized Dunny series one are graffiti legends Dr. Revolt, Quik, Mewz, NYC Lase, Sket, Persue and Ewok; toy designers, Tristan Eaton and Frank Kozik; Vancouver based animators Superdeux; San Francisco based artist Huck Gee and Seattle based DJ, Jerry Abstract.

Tristan Eaton, co-designer of Dunny said, "artists who worked on this series are among the legends of new and old-school graffiti crews. For collectors or lovers of graffiti art, this is a chance to own a design from the masters."

Dunny Series One will be for sale at the Kidrobot Stores in New York and San Francisco and on the website at www.kidrobot.com from April 22, 2004 until supplies run out.
