Scooby-Doo Shop At Times Square TRU

March 2004 -- Zoinks! Warner Bros. Consumer Products held a "Doo Your Best Scooby" sound-a-like competition on March 25 at Toys "R" Us Times Square to help celebrate the debut of Warner Bros. Pictures' live-action comedy adventure, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which opens in theaters March 26.

Kids had a howling good time imitating their favorite character from Mystery Inc. while competing for a bundle of Scooby-Doo prizes, including new products inspired by the feature film.

Shaina Dorow, a nine-year-old from Montclair, NJ, was declared the top dog with her impersonation of Velma.

At the event, a new Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine-themed Ferris Wheel gondola was unveiled on the incredible 60-ft. indoor Ferris Wheel, one of the most memorable attractions in Toys "R" Us Times Square. Grand prize winner, Shaina, and her family took the inaugural ride on the new Ferris Wheel cab. Additionally, children also had the opportunity to meet-and-greet Scooby-Doo and receive complimentary drawings from Tim Maltby, illustrator for Warner Bros. Animation's television series What's New Scooby-Doo?, currently airing on Kids' WB! and Cartoon Network.

Now through April 15, Toys "R" Us Times Square features a dedicated Scooby-Doo Shop on the lower level of the store, showcasing four of the classic monsters from the original Scooby-Doo animated series including Chickenstein, Space Kook, Captain Cutler and The Creeper. (These monsters will also make their debut on the silver screen in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed). The monster-museum-themed shop will feature an array of Scooby-Doo merchandise including toys and games, plush, dolls, books, candy and much more.

About Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

In Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Scooby-Doo and the gang lose their cool - and their stellar reputation - when an anonymous masked villain wreaks mayhem on the city of Coolsville with a monster machine that re-creates classic Mystery Inc. foes like the Pterodactyl Ghost, Black Knight, 10,000 Volt Ghost, and many more.
