Elvis Presley Action Figure

elvis action figure

TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 21, 2004 -- McFarlane Toys is proud to be working with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) to produce a sure-to-be- classic Elvis Presley Super Stage action figure. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Presley's first record.

McFarlane Toys' first action figure of Elvis, the best selling solo recording artist in U.S. history, is based on reference from his famous '68 Comeback Special, filmed for television in Burbank, CA, in June and aired Dec. 3. The life-like, stunningly detailed 6-inch figure captures the raw power of Elvis in one of the most critically acclaimed music specials of all time.

McFarlane Toys' King of Rock 'n' Roll figure is dressed in his legendary black leather costume, and includes a custom stage diorama base complete with chair, guitar, microphone with stand and backdrop based on the informal in- the-round concert stage. The figure's packaging includes the official 50th Anniversary original artwork from EPE.

The figure will be available at most music and specialty retailers, as well as select toy stores, with a retail price range of $12 to $15.

"Elvis Presley Enterprises is honored to have the opportunity to work with Todd McFarlane, and McFarlane Toys," said Carol Butler, Director of Worldwide Licensing. "Todd's work is incredible, and the detailed likeness he has the vision to capture while sculpting Elvis is amazing."

Elvis Presley is the top selling recording artist of all time with estimated sales of over one billion copies worldwide. In America alone, 148 different Elvis albums and singles have been officially certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum. He remains a driving force in the music industry as illustrated by the global smash release of 2002, ELVIS 30 #1 HITS, which has sold nine million copies worldwide.

EPE is based in Memphis, with offices in Los Angeles. In addition to Graceland and its related attractions in Memphis, including the Heartbreak Hotel, EPE is aggressively involved in a worldwide licensing program, merchandising, music publishing, and television, film, video and internet projects.
