Wildfire Toys Hopes To Burn Up The Action Figure Scene

wt_82nd_airb.jpg - 9647 BytesThere's a new company ready to make it's mark on the action figure industry. Raving Toy Maniac would like to introduce you to Wildfire Toys. Wildfire is a new player in the exploding action figure market. Innovation and quality is their mandate. Several lines are in the works but initially the company plans to release a military figure line in 6" (1/12) scale and an accompanying line of military vehicles, guns and accessories. This line is tentatively named Immortal Warriors and will cover subject matter from throughout military history ranging from the early Romans, to the Middle Ages, the Napoleanic Wars, the U.S. Civil War and to the present. However the emphasis will be on World War Two.

Series One will consist of five figures which are expected to be: U.S. 82nd airborne paratrooper (Normandy); German Paratrooper; British Paratrooper; U.S. Civil War Union officer; Burgundian crossbowman (c.1400 a.d.). One innovation Wildfire plans to offer, as accessories with their figures, are additional limbs for maximum variety of poses while maintaining minimum number of joints for greatest realism. Each figure will come with extra arms and legs which snap in so that a standing figure can also be posed in a crouch or have arms raised above shoulder level etc; of course each figure will also come with appropriate weapons and gear. They anticipate release of this first series in the final quarter of this year.

The 1/12 scale Weapons line will offer a German Tiger I tank. Wildfire is most excited about the potential of this line and believe it will offer subjects that collectors and young "generals" alike have hungered for many years. Future releases will be: German 75mm anti-tank gun with crew; German rocket launcher (Nebelwerfer) with crew; U.S. Sherman tank; German 88mm anti-tank gun and crew; P-51 Mustang fighter; and the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

"Down the road we have even grander plans" states Wildfire president Andrew Ferguson. "We intend to produce a German U-boat to the same scale as our other offerings. It will be a waterline model and will come in several sections which snap together& in all it should be around 18 feet long, very exciting! It can be easily disassembled for convenient storage."
