Welcome to the July Holiday edition of The Todd McFarlane Update. To our friends north of the boarder: Happy (belated) Canada Day; and best wishes to all on the U.S. side for a safe and fun 4th of July Independence Day!

THE TODD MCFARLANE SHOW HOSTS STAN WINSTON THIS WEEK
TODD, SETH TALK TERMINATOR 3 WITH FAMED CHARACTER CREATOR

Todd and Seth step back into the world of Hollywood this week with an exciting guest, Stan Winston, when the Todd McFarlane Show takes to the airwaves from 4 to 5 PM Eastern today.

Not since Lon Chaney has one individual been responsible for the creation of so many memorable character icons. Multiple Academy Award winner Stan Winston is indeed the world's foremost creator of creatures, the common denominator linking some of cinema's most innovative and accomplished character designs. From "The Terminator" and the extra terrestrial monstrosities of "Aliens" to the amazing dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park" and the fanciful character of "Edward Scissorhands," Winston has garnered a record number of awards for his achievements. He has won four Academy Awards and has been nominated for ten. He has also claimed three British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, two Emmys and numerous other industry awards.

The Todd McFarlane Show is on weekly during baseball's regular season, and offers listeners an eclectic mix of sports talk and entertainment, a concept we call "Homers and Hollywood." It's similar to Fox Sports' Best Damn Sports Show Period.

An important note to fans of the show: MLB Radio became a pay product in at the start of the baseball season. MLB.com offers several subscription levels, with the basic MLB Radio package starting at $9.95/year. To listen to the show and to get more information about the MLB.com subscriptions, click here http://www.spawn.com/news/events/mlbradio.aspx, to hear past clips and click through to MLB Radio's home page.

FYI, the MLB.com subscription fees have nothing to do with Todd or the McFarlane companies. Todd does the show weekly for free.

ALL-STAR FANFEST EVENT ON THE HORIZON
WHAT'S ON TAP AT THIS CHICAGO SPORTS HAPPENING

The spawn.com road gang has a summer full of exciting travel, nutritious fast food and lots of cool events upcoming. The first is the Major League Baseball John Hancock All-Star FanFest at McCormick Place in Chicago.

We'll be at the event Friday, July 11 through Tuesday, July 15, 2003.

Our booth will be located in the Making of the Game area, adjacent to the Franklin (MLB glove manufacturer) booth. Our booth will be entertaining, filled with two-up prototypes of upcoming action figures as well as a how-to-make-a-figure display.

FanFest is the largest baseball event in the world, with some 40 interactive baseball-themed attractions, vendors and more. It provides baseball fans of all ages the once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the fun and excitement of the Major League Baseball Midsummer Classic.

As most of you probably know, McFarlane Toys will have a pair of exclusive baseball action figures for sale at the event:

* Sammy Sosa, Chicago Cubs, in his MLB Series 6 pose and alternate road uniform

* Frank Thomas, Chicago White Sox designated hitter

These figures will be available to purchase for $15 each or $25 for a set of both. Initial purchase limits are one set per person. That may change as the event progresses, but we want as many people as possible to have access to these exclusives.

But, wait, even though we're serious about the concept of event exclusives, we realize that not everyone can get to Chicago. So, we saved a single set of exclusives to give away here on spawn.com.

All you have to do is send an e-mail to [email protected]. Subject: FanFest Contest. Include your name and complete mailing address. You may enter only once. All entries must be received by noon PST July 9. The winner will be announced on spawn.com July 11. Good luck.
