March 14, 2003

Listen live today as Todd McFarlane and Seth Everett of MLB Radio weigh-in on baseball and entertainment at the height of pre-season play.

Click on this new link to listen:
http://spawn.com/news/events/mlbradio.aspx

And if you're feeling on your game, enter Todd's Sports Picks Challenge and win a year's supply of McFarlane's Sports Picks baseball figures:

During the Feb. 28 show, Todd and Seth compared notes on the order teams would finish in each of the six MLB divisions (American League and National League - West, Central and East). On air, Todd challenged listeners (and anyone reading spawn.com) to beat his predictions for the 2003 season. If someone does, that successful prognosticator will win all of the new McFarlane's Sports Picks baseball figures produced in 2003, which adds up to, well a lot of little men in tight plastic pants.

To enter the contest, send an e-mail to [email protected] with your NAME, MAILING ADDRESS and your PICKS for the standings in each division at the end of the regular season, placing equal weight on the exact (and we mean EXACT) placement of all teams, whether it's the first-, third- or last-place team.

NL West (five teams)

NL Central (six teams)

NL East (five teams)

AL West (four teams)

AL Central (five teams)

AL East (five teams)

Contest rules and points system: Having each team listed in their correct finish (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc) in all six divisions at the end of the regular baseball season is worth zero (0) points, which is a perfect score. If your pick for 2nd place in the NL West ends up in 5th, you are charged 3 points. If that same pick finishes in first, you lose 1 point. So, it doesn't matter if a team finishes better or worse than your pick, it still costs you. Remember, we said exact!

The person who scores closest to "0" (cumulative for all divisions) AND beats Todd's score wins the toys. If more than one person beats Todd, we will have a random drawing for the winner. If no one beats Todd, we keep the goods. Ties go to the company (just like Las Vegas, baby!)

We'll post Todd's picks after the season starts. Or, to hear his picks now you can listen to the archive of the Feb. 28 show by clicking on the link above.

Example AL West Division Pick:
1. Oakland A's
2. Anaheim Angels
3. Seattle Mariners
4. Texas Rangers

If the teams actually finished in this order at the end of the season:
1. Oakland (correct pick)
2. Anaheim (correct pick)
3. Texas (picked 4th, you lose 1 point)
4. Seattle (picked 3rd, you lose 1 point)

Your score for this division: -2 points (minus 2)

Entry deadline is Friday March 21, 2003. To be eligible, include your picks, along with name, street address and phone number. Duplicate, multiple (from the same person) or incomplete entries will be deleted. The winner (if there is one) will be announced on spawn.com, Friday Oct. 3, 2003.

The winner will also be notified via their entry e-mail. Keep in mind this contest runs the length of the regular season, so use an e-mail address you plan to have active six months from now; or remember to check back on spawn.com for the results. Good luck ... Todd really does his homework on this stuff.

THANKS!
