Spin Master: Centennial of Flight

Washington, D.C. (Nov. 5, 2002) - The Centennial of Flight celebration, which will officially take flight in less than two months, soon will land in retail outlets across America and Canada as the result of a licensing agreement between the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission and Spin Master Toys. Under the terms of the agreement, Toronto-based Spin Master Toys, one of the fastest growing toy manufacturers in the world, will have the right to license and use the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission logo in connection with the design, manufacture, advertisement, promotion and sale of certain products to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first flight.

Spin Master Toys was founded in 1994 and quickly grew from a start-up company to an international superstar. The company develops, manufactures, markets and distributes its own toy products around the world and has several well-known brands, including Air Hogs, Metal Maxx and Shrinky Dinks. Spin Master currently has plans for an integrated in-store display program and account-specific promotions in conjunction with the centennial of flight.

"Our Air Hogs toys are intricately designed to fascinate children with flight. Working with the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission will allow us to combine our efforts, expanding our reach and hopefully captivating kids of all ages," said Anton Rabie, President and Co-Founder of Spin Master.

"We hope to inspire a spirit of inventiveness and passion in children throughout the Centennial year," said Sherry Foster, executive director of the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission. "We are looking forward to working with Spin Master to reach children across the United States and Canada."

The U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission is coordinating a national outreach campaign for the Centennial of Flight: Born of Dreams - Inspired by Freedom commemoration, and advising the President, Congress and federal agencies on the most effective ways to encourage and promote national and international participation in 2003.
