Armored Core 3 Limited Edition

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 29 -- Agetec, Inc.(R), a leading publisher of video games, today announced that they have partnered with Toys'R'Us.com, Gamestop.com and Fry's Electronics in a retail promotion for the company's highly-anticipated title, Armored Core(R) 3, for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. The latest title in Agetec's popular futuristic fighting series, Armored Core 3 will be available as a premium limited collector's edition to customers who reserve the software prior to the game's launch through the participating retailers' websites in the U.S. and Canada.

Packaged in a custom serialized box, the Armored Core 3 Limited Edition includes the software, one of three full-sized Armored Core action figures and an extra-large Armored Core 3 tee shirt. The action figures, previously available through Diamond Comics, are exclusive to each retailer, with each featuring a different character. Reservations for The Armored Core 3 Limited are available now, to be fulfilled week prior to the game's official launch, which is slated for September 17, 2002. The Armored Core 3 Limited Edition has a suggested retail price of $69.99.

"We see The Armored Core 3 Limited Collectors Edition as a way to say thank you to fans of this series for their support through the years," said Agetec vice president, Kevin Sullivan. "Their loyalty and enthusiasm has helped make this the most successful franchise in Agetec's history."

The sixth title in the Armored Core Series and third game available exclusively for the PlayStation 2 platform, Armored Core 3 continues the saga of mechanized warfare and humanity's struggle for survival through battles fought by Armored Core pilots known as "Ravens." Preserving the same great gameplay popularized by previous titles in the series, the game's developer, From Software(TM), has added several enhancements, such as new Armored Core designs, a four-player arena mode, a computer-controlled "wingman," and the ability to "drop" items to improve speed and performance. The game also features Dolby SURROUND Pro Logic II (R) sound and an all-new intuitive interface.

The Armored Core 3 Limited Edition will be available in the U.S. and Canada, while supplies last, by reserving an advanced copy of the game through the following websites: toysrus.com (part of Amazon.com), gamestop.com, frys.com (in conjunction with Outpost.com), and at Fry's retail locations. The launch of Armored Core 3 is also being supported by a television and print advertising campaign.
