Diamond Exclusive Urban Vinyl Figures

ching head action figure

July 31, 2002 - The new Asian trend in cool makes its way to the U.S. in the form of the Ching Head: Potato Wheel Vinyl Figure (distributed exclusively in North America by Diamond Comic Distributors) and the Out of Town: Chung Shan Vinyl Figure (available exclusively through Diamond)!

Western street culture has hit Hong Kong with a vengeance. It was this change in style that caused designer Jason Choy to ask himself why people are always accepting Eastern or Western trends, but never a blend of the two. He created the revolutionary concept of combining the traditional Chinese garb with the hip-hop style that is currently popular in Hong Kong, in a series of figures that are less "toy" and more "art."

Imported from Hong Kong, these 5" to 6" rotocast vinyl figures follow the successful Ching Head Previews Exclusive Vinyl Figure, which was Choy's first figure sculpt. The Potato Wheel Figure is in the same spirit of the original, as it combines the traditional Eastern flavor with the modern Western flava'. The Chung Shan Figure is a 100% urban, modern figure, with the same amazing features and details. Both feature approximately five points of articulation.
