Marvel Comics creator talks super heroes on MLB Radio Show tomorrow
Tune in between 3 - 4 PM Eastern on mlb.com

Stan Lee, one of the comic book world's greatest creators, will join Todd live on the Todd McFarlane Show Friday, July 12, on MLB Radio at mlb.com.

Todd and MLB Radio co-host Seth Everett, who is also long-time comic book fan, will talk with Stan about comic books, entertainment and more during their weekly show. One topic that will likely not come up much is baseball, since Stan is not a fan of the game. That's OK, because the show is as much about entertainment as it is about baseball and sports in general.

"We're actually trying to take the show into more of what I call a 'homers and Hollywood' concept," said Todd. "With that said, guests can be either from the sports world or the entertainment world, and sometimes if we play our cards right, a good mix of both."

Known to millions as the man whose super heroes propelled Marvel Comics to its preeminent position in the comic book industry, Stan Lee's singular co-creations include Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, The Avengers, Silver Surfer and Dr. Strange among many others. Lee first became publisher of Marvel Comics in 1972 and is presently the Chairman Emeritus of Marvel Enterprises Inc. and a member of the Editorial Board of Marvel Comics. In 1977, he introduced Spider-Man as a syndicated newspaper strip that went on to become the most successful of all syndicated adventure strips. Spider-Man now appears in more than 500 newspapers worldwide -- making it the longest running of all super hero
strips.

Stan "the Man" Lee has exerted more influence over the comic book industry than anyone in history. He created or co-created 90 percent of Marvel's recognized characters, which have been successfully licensed and marketed since 1965. The numbers are staggering -- more than 2 billion of his comic books have been published in 75 countries and in 25 languages. In Europe alone, Stan Lee's name appears on over 35 million comics annually. Each year, X-Men sells more than 13 million copies.

To listen to the show each Friday, from 3 to 4 p.m. Eastern, log on to http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/radio/mlb_radio_index.jsp and click the ON THE AIR LIVE link at the top of the page. Stan is scheduled to join the show at 3:30 p.m.

Additionally, fans can ask Todd and Stan questions in advance by sending e-mail to [email protected]. During the show itself, anyone can use AOL Instant Messenger to reach the show by sending a message to mlbradiolive. MLB.com is the official Web site of Major League Baseball.
