MechWarrior: Dark Age launches in August 2002. You can get a head start on your 'Mech collection with the help of PC Gamer magazine, which is offering an exclusive mail-in figure in their September 2002 issue (available in July). See the press release below for more details about the mail-in offer and the "One-Eyed" Jack, Jupiter BattleMech piece.

SEATTLE, WA - June 3, 2002 - WizKids is pleased to announce a special redemption agreement with Imagine Media, publishers of PC Gamer magazine. The September cover issue of PC Gamer, available the last week of July, will feature a redemption offer for an exclusive, Limited Edition MechWarrior: Dark Age 'Mech. This will be the first MechWarrior: Dark Age Limited Edition figure ever offered, and it will only be available via the coupon in the magazine. With each issue will be a coupon that allows readers to purchase up to two of the figures for $5 each ($6 for addresses in Canada, and $10 for overseas orders).

"We are pleased to be able to make this special offer through PC Gamer, the number one computer game magazine in the world," said Martin Stever, WizKids Executive Vice President. "This deal allows WizKids to thank millions of MechWarrior computer game fans for all the support they have shown the game setting over the years. At the same time this figure introduces them to a whole new way to enjoy MechWarrior. Whether they become a fan of the new MechWarrior: Dark Age collectable miniature game or just put the figure on top of their computer monitor and enjoy it while they play their MechWarrior computer game, we know the MechWarrior fans will enjoy this special offer."

The "One-Eyed" Jack, Jupiter BattleMech is not available in the standard MechWarrior: Dark Age figure set, and can be purchased only through this special offer. The Jupiter 'Mech is a rugged design that is a superior war machine. With common parts, it is readily repaired in the field, giving it a longevity that most other designs cannot match. It will look magnificent on the battlefield or on top of a computer monitor.

By special arrangement with Imagine Media, WizKids is making copies of this issue of PC Gamer available to all its distributors. In turn the distributors may offer it to game retailers, who may get the offer into the hands of WizKids fans.

MechWarrior: Dark Age captures the depth of the BattleTech universe in a sophisticated, fast-playing game system that emphasizes army design and combined arms tactics. This August players can have more than 116 different infantry, powered armor, combat vehicles and 'Mechs at their command. The MechWarrior: Dark Age collectable miniatures game is available in starter sets that contain one 'Mech, two vehicles, five infantry miniatures and everything you need to play for $19.95, and booster packs that contain one 'Mech, one vehicle, and two infantry miniatures for $9.95. Each unit is highly detailed, assembled, painted and ready to play right out of the box.
