APII Appoints a New VP

ORLANDO, Fla., May 7 -- Action Products International, Inc., a leading specialty toy company, announced the appointment of Bill Bordegon as Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Bordegon, a highly respected consumer-marketing veteran, brings experience and success in developing brands for the specialty retail industry.

After earning a B.S. in advertising and marketing at the University of Florida, Bordegon acquired a strong background in classic marketing and brand management at Gillette and Kayser-Roth Corp (No Nonsense and Burlington fashion hosiery). Further developing his sales and marketing skills in the Specialty Retail arena, Bordegon served as the Executive Vice President of Fleer/Skybox trading cards and collectibles. Mr. Bordegon is credited with leading the turnaround at Fleer, leading Fleer, from its previous position as the number four player, to first place in its industry. Recently Bordegon served as President and CEO of APBA International, the leading brand in sports games. He has worked with major licensors including Disney, Warner Bros., Fox, and Viacom.

"I am pleased to be joining the Action Products team as we continue to aggressively develop our brands and distribution into specialty toy stores and museums," said Bordegon.

Action Products management considers the addition of Bordegon's leadership in sales and marketing an integral step toward implementation of strategies to strengthen the Company's equity in its brands and distribution channels. Additionally, Bordegon is expected to aid in implementation of increasingly accurate sales and inventory forecasting methodologies.

"Bill's addition to the Action Products team takes the Company to higher level in terms of professional management and marketing strategies. We are fortunate to have a person with Bill's depth and breadth of experience to lead Action Products' enhanced marketing and sales distribution efforts into specialty toy stores and museums throughout the world," said Ron Kaplan, CEO/ Chairman of Action Products Int'l.

"Action Products is dedicated to providing independent specialty and 'edu- tainment destination' retailers including museum stores and attractions, with brands that sell, professionally marketed and merchandised retail presentation models, traffic building promotional programs, and Class A customer service. Bill's team-oriented executive leadership, as well as his brand building marketing and sales capabilities, uniquely qualify him to lead Action Products Team Members in these efforts. Going forward we can and will do more to successfully implement our strategies to the betterment of our brands, our retail partners, and our stakeholders," added Kaplan.
