BOSTON, Jan. 29 -- Celebrities from the entertainment, sports and business worlds are "signing on" to raise money for The Leary Firefighters Foundation Fund for New York's Bravest through an online auction. Beginning February 1, the public can bid on cool, color changing Stars and Stripes LightWands signed by celebrities including: Martha Stewart; legendary entertainer Eartha Kitt; 2002 U.S. Figure Skating Champion and Olympian Todd Eldredge; former Chairman and CEO of General Electric Jack Welch; award-winning chef and restaurateur Todd English; Boston Red Sox pitching legend Luis Tiant; and actor Denis Leary, founder of The Leary Firefighters Foundation.
All proceeds from the auction will go to The Leary Firefighters Foundation Fund for New York's Bravest. This fund was established in the wake of the national tragedy to direct money to support the families of New York firefighters who perished or were injured in the line of duty in the September 11 attacks.
Stars and Stripes LightWand is a special version of the Sauce(TM) LightWand, a color changing wand that displays controllable colored light and lighting effects.
