Toy Stocks Recommended

CHICAGO, Nov. 15 -- The holiday season makes everyone think of toys, but Melissa Williams has produced 39% returns thinking about them all year long. While she doesn't have her own action figure yet, you can still enjoy her recommendations that could give you a substantial amount of play in your portfolio: Toys R Us Inc. (NYSE: TOY), Electronics Boutique (Nasdaq: ELBO), Mattel Inc. (NYSE: MAT), and Hasbro Inc. (NYSE: HAS). For the complete report and substantially more extensive commentary on the sector, visit http://www.Picks2.Zacks.com.

Here are the details on Analyst Melissa Williams' Stock Picks for today:

Toys R Us Inc. (NYSE: TOY) is in the midst of revamping and refocusing the company on a new store format. They have 433 stores in the new format, which are posting better comparisons than the older stores. Toys R Us is also opening a flagship store in Times Square that should create multiple benefits for Toys R Us. On the product side, Williams feels the stock is a good way to play video game prospects that continue to post strong growth rates. Toys R Us is a vendor of the new Xbox and Gamecube and sells games for both consoles as well as for the PlayStation II and other more installed platforms.

Electronics Boutique (Nasdaq: ELBO) has run through Williams's current price target, however they are well positioned for the long term. The company is a leader in video game retailing, and is opening more strip mall stores for mass marketing. It is mostly targeted toward the core gamer in the video game category who wants to have the titles immediately and tends to buy more software titles.

Mattel Inc. (NYSE: MAT) is a great company that is very well run. Robert Eckert took the company over in May of 2000 bringing discipline without sacrificing innovation. Aside from its Barbie, Hot Wheels and Tickle me Elmo brands, it has strong upside potential through Harry Potter licenses. The company generates a significant amount of cash and longer term will be able to reduce debt and repurchase shares or acquire other companies. Williams has a price target of $24.

Hasbro Inc. (NYSE: HAS) is similar to Mattel in being a turnaround story, though not as far along. Hasbro took significant charges last year and refocused on core brands, lessening exposure to licensed products. GI Joe and board games and added new core properties will be strong drivers.
