Grinch Toys for Tots Drive

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Nov. 15 -- Taking a lesson in caring and sharing from the American holiday classic, "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas!," Universal Studios Home Video and the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves Toys For Tots have teamed up for "The Grinch's Spirit of the Holidays/Toys For Tots" national charity drive.

The campaign, which kicks off on November 20 at the new Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in Hollywood, involves a who-mongous Grinch semi-truck blazing the trail to 17 cities across the nation collecting toys for the children and families affected by recent tragic events. Universal Studios Home Video will match the quantity of toys donated in each local community to deliver to children and families in New York and Washington, DC.

Special events for the THE GRINCH/TOYS FOR TOTS campaign will occur during November and December in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis, Denver, St. Louis, Orlando, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Nashville, Columbus, OH, and Ft. Smith, AK.

"This holiday season is one where we will truly count our blessings and reach out to those in need. We hope to help make this the biggest toy collection ever in the 53-year history of Toys For Tots," said Craig Kornblau, President Universal Studios Home Video. "This is another meaningful opportunity for all of us to support families and children in need throughout our country."

"We are very appreciative of Universal Studios Home Video's efforts on behalf of Toys For Tots. Their support comes at a time when there are more children and families who need our help than ever before," said retired Major William Grein, vice president of the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation.

The must-have Academy Award(R)-winning blockbuster hit, "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas!," is set to steal the Who-lidays as the biggest holiday title of all time with its release on VHS and DVD on November 20, 2001 from Universal Studios Home Video.

The VHS will be available for $24.98 SRP and a special VHS Gift Set that includes the video and Grinch plush will be available for $29.98 SRP. The DVD Collector's Edition will be available for $26.98 SRP and the deluxe Limited Edition DVD Gift Set that includes a DVD Collector's Edition and an interactive play set will also be available on November 20 for $39.98 SRP.
