February 2011 - Hasbro held a special Q&A round, featuring their Transformers Prime animated series:
Question: Can we get some sort of guide explaining precisely how "War for Cybertron" and "Prime" are connected? For fans watching the show the relationship between the two isn't very clear- especially in the drastic change of character designs- with the exception of Megatron's continued use of Dark Energon.
Answer, from Aaron Archer; VP IP Development, Hasbro: The Transformers have lived for millions of years between the War for Cybertron events, and the events seen in PRIME. The Transformer characters have been through a lot in between, battles, new planets, and space journeys etc. As more stories are told, we will reveal exactly how it all connects and that is the fun of the new continuity, no one should feel they know what is coming next. It is a valid point to request that Hasbro helps topline the connections for fans that want to follow the progress of the new continuity.
