Assembling Classic Fun, Toys"R"Us and LEGO Systems, Inc. Reconstruct "Bricktober" Event

October 2010 - Building on the success of last year's event, Toys"R"Us has partnered again with LEGO Systems, Inc. to reconstruct "Bricktober" at Toys"R"Us stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com. Transforming October into "Bricktober," customers will find a LEGO celebration at Toys"R"Us stores throughout the month, highlighted by weekly specials on LEGO products, a special Racing event, dedicated boutiques filled with LEGO sets and more. As an added bonus, LEGO Systems, Inc. and Toys"R"Us combed through the LEGO archives to reissue four of fans' favorite LEGO minifigures as limited edition magnets as gifts with purchase, with one minifigure magnet released each week at Toys"R"Us stores.

Customers interested in "Bricktober" will find the following excitement at Toys"R"Us stores starting now:

Return of Retro LEGO Minifigures

LEGO fans love to collect the minifigures found within many LEGO construction sets, and to help make "Bricktober" extra special, Toys"R"Us and LEGO Systems, Inc. are rereleasing four of the most sought after minifigures in LEGO history in magnet form. Each week, customers who purchase $20 worth of LEGO construction sets or board games will receive a limited edition LEGO minifigure from times past.

  • From Sunday, October 10 to Saturday, October 16, LEGO fans can find the Cavalry Colonel from the 1986 LEGO Western range. The Cavalry Colonel was featured in two LEGO sets, Fort Legoredo and Frontier Patrol.

  • From Sunday, October 17 to Saturday, October 23, the Fire Chief, part of the 1981 LEGOLAND Town Fire theme will reappear. The Fire Chief was sought after due to the distinctive white helmet he wore to distinguish himself from traditional Firefighter minifigures wearing black hats.
