Eating Champion Joey Chestnut Aims to Set New Guinness World Record in Celebration of THQ's Red Faction: Armageddon

Agoura Hills, CA (July 20, 2010) - In celebration of Comic Con and THQ's upcoming release of Red Faction: Armageddon, set on celestial Mars, Major League Eater Joey Chestnut will ravage through a heap of Mars Bars as he strives to set a new Guinness World Records® achievement for Most Chocolate Bars to Be Eaten in One Minute. The record breaking event will take place at the Tin Fish Restaurant, directly across from Comic Con, on July 22nd at 1:30 pm and be overseen by Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday, who will act as the record officiator.

Additional Major League Eating (MLE) competitors will be joining Chestnut for this challenge and will each individually strive to claim the Guinness World Records title for their own. Directly following the one minute record attempt portion of the event, the competitors will reconvene and go head to head to see who can eat the most Mars Bars in five minute competition sanctioned by MLE, the governing body of stomach-centric sport.

For the Guinness World Records portion of the event, the record guidelines of this category stipulate that each Mars Bar must weigh in at least 49 grams and must remain wrapped until the start of the one minute timeframe. Drinking of any liquid is not allowed during the record attempt and the competitor's mouth must be witnessed to be completely empty after each bar is consumed. Each attempt will be closely observed by Glenday who will verify that the attempts adhere to the strict guidelines of the record category and, will present an official certificate to the winning MLE competitor if the record is successfully broken.

In addition to this record breaking event THQ will be hosting an array of game demos and developer interviews for Red Faction: Armageddon during Comic Con at its official booth, #5145, located in hall H.
