GI JOE

Things have been somewhat quiet with GI JOE lately. Hasbro isn't shipping much merchandise right now. Wave 5 ('08) single-carded figures will hopefully arrive this month. Hasbro seems to be significantly slipping again in meeting demand. Hopefully, we'll also have a restock of the vehicles and some previously sold-out 25th Anniversary single-carded figures this month or early next. It'll likely all land around the same time.

A few people have asked about the "shared exclusive" Extreme Conditions 7-figure sets. Yes, we'll be offering them and they'll be available in late September. We do not anticipate any shortage of supply.

Meanwhile, we have in stock the new 12" (1:6 scale) representations of some of your favorite GI JOE characters: Flint, Dusty, Bazooka, and Cobra Trooper.

The GI JOE: America's Elite comic book series has concluded with issue #36.

Oh, I think we've been able to track down some more copies of the retailer incentive cover for issue #36, so watch the web site for a restock in about ten days' time.

This closes out Devil's Due's involvement with the GI JOE comic. The license will now go to IDW, who will begin production of a new title in early 2009 with Larry Hama writing. It will be some sort of reboot to the continuity, the exact nature of which is unclear at this time. More information available at the GI JOE fan sites.

This would be a great time for you to go back and pick up the back issues of the various Devil's Due GI JOE series, many of which we still have in stock. Our inventory of many titles is starting to get low, especially for the original and America's Elite series.
